Saving water doesn't have to start with a major overhaul. Small, practical changes at home can add up, especially outdoors, where replacing part of a lawn, improving soil, and choosing climate-appropriate plants can make landscapes more resilient over time.

This spring, residents can take those steps through the 2026 Water Wise challenge and turn good intentions into trackable action. The broader Cleaner Contra Costa challenge platform has already helped participants save more than 4.38 million gallons of water, showing how everyday actions across households can create meaningful impact.

**Complete at least 3 water wise actions and post about them on the Cleaner Contra Costa platform by June 30th to be entered into a drawing to win a $50 gift card of your choice! Join the 2026 Water Wise challenge today and choose one action to start with this month.
