We had a fun time building antennas out of expedient items tonight! We build 1/4 wave coaxial verticals for 2m, we build a 20MHz dipole and then used ladder line, lamp cord and tv coax for feed line. After all this we experimented cutting the coax and splicing it with wire nuts and electrical tape. We have to be ready to build antennas with things that can be sourced locally. Anymore we can’t even source 50ohm coax or connectors locally. Thanks again to all of our dedicated ARES members for volunteering time and money to the cause.

Starting June 23rd the State Line ARES net will be held on the N0NWS linked repeater system from 7:30pm Central until 8:00pm when the SEKARC net starts!
