Food Pantry - CORA’s pantries are set up like a grocery stores for choice shopping, and community members choose the food that matches their preferences and needs. Mobile Market - We currently distribute food via a drive-through model. Families stay in their cars, and pre-packed groceries are placed in their vehicles. There are assorted options like the Pantry, including local fresh produce, meats, dairy, bakery items, and shelf-stable staples. SNACK! – This program distributes food to more than 1,300 kids who depend upon free or reduced-cost meals at school during the school year but have little or no replacement for this nutrition when school is not in session. provides each participating child with 21 healthy meals each week from mid-June through mid-August. CORApacks – Each student receives food on weekends and during school breaks when school is not in session from September through June. Each child receives a monthly food box from this program, delivered to their home, and contains three meals and two snacks daily for when a child is not in school. Delivery to Older Adults – We deliver food to home-bound older adults in our community. If food is needed beyond the two visits, please come to CORA, and we will assist you. We accept food donations Monday through Friday between 9 am - 3 pm at 40 Camp Drive in Pittsboro.

It's Delivery Day! Once a month, volunteers work in teams of two to deliver groceries to neighbors who can't make it to the pantry in person. This is a vital program that supports some of the most vulnerable members of our community, and it's a fun way to volunteer with a partner or friend! We need more delivery volunteers! CORA Executive Director, Melissa, was on WCHL and Chapelboro.com with Suzanne Tormollen of TABLE this morning to discuss the current state of food insecurity in our area. Local families are facing increased difficulties as SNAP and other programs are being reduced or restricted, while prices increase and wages stay the same. Check out this interview to learn more about the current situation, the wide-ranging effects it may have in the community, and what we can do to help our neighbors in this time.

Aaron welcomes two local hunger-relief leaders to discuss hunger-relief efforts in our community - which are facing multiple pressures.
