Community Organizing for Racial Equity - CORE Building stronger communities by investing in community leaders

09/30/2026

Change does not happen by itself.

Somebody has to show up.

Somebody has to do the work.

Somebody has to gather the people.

Somebody has to believe that their community is worth fighting for, building for, and showing up for.

That is part of the story behind Theory of Change.

And this weekend, that conversation comes to Chatham County.
Food, Freedom & the Vote brings together food, neighbors, voter information, film, and conversation about the power communities have when people participate.

What does change look like before it becomes a headline?

Sometimes it looks like a mother.

A neighbor.

A conversation.

This weekend, CORE is bringing Food, Freedom & the Vote to Pittsboro and Siler City, featuring a special screening of Theory of Change.
Come for the food. Stay for the story.
Join the conversation about community, participation, and the power ordinary people have when we come together.

LEARN MORE with CORE

Our truest goal is LIBERATION; where communities are thriving because we are not punished or penalized for our different cultures, identities, abilities, or appearance. LIBERATION is wholeness.

LIBERATION begins with self but is deeply intertwined with others.

To be exhausted means to experience extreme mental or physical fatigue. And folks... many of us are EXHAUSTED.
So many voices have shared that it feels like we're all just SURVIVING.
You are not alone in your exhaustion, you're not wrong for feeling this way. It is the result of oppressive systems - systems that steal our time, energy, and best efforts. That is by design. IF you're burned out, you can't apply pressure for solutions.
REST IS RESISTANCE
Make time to fill your cup so that you can continue forward. Rest isn't weakness or giving up, it's the critical ingredient to the ongoing fight for liberation.
