This Memorial Day, we gathered for a moving service to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice and to lift up the military families within our community. Thoughtful reflections, prayers from our Pastor Kim Wecht, music from the Young at Heart Choir, and an invocation from resident and Army Veteran Rev. Tom White made the day especially meaningful.

In partnership with Eagles Up!, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting active-duty military personnel, wounded veterans, and Gold Star families, we were honored to support the family of Army veteran Bennie James “B.J.” Washington, a member of the 44th Engineer Battalion who was injured in Ramadi, Iraq, and passed away from his injuries in 2005, earning the Purple Heart.

Through the generosity of our residents, families, teammates, and partners at Amedisys and Rothkoff Law Group, we provided essentials for his son, Saeed, as he prepares for bootcamp, courageously following in his father’s footsteps, and for his niece, Alexandria, as she begins her studies at Rutgers University.

Today and always, we remember, we honor, and we give thanks.

A fun day at Hidden Hill Farm NJ 🐐💖

Thank you to our partners at VITAS Healthcare for co-hosting our latest CEU event that brings healthcare professionals together for a day of collaboration...and a little fun!

At UMC, we’re committed to serving our community through continued growth, innovation, and meaningful partnerships. We believe that when local providers come together, it strengthens the care and support available to our entire community — and that’s always our ultimate goal.

We'd like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Casey, Sharon, and all other Pitman Manor teammates and volunteers who joined us this past Sunday to flag the graves of Veterans in our local community. ❤️

Your commitment to honoring these American heroes is deeply appreciated — helping the families of those who served know their sacrifice is remembered, valued, and honored by our community.

It was an honor to come together and pay tribute ahead of Memorial Day. 🇺🇸

For Michele Temple, Collingswood Manor, a UMC Community (Pitman Manor's sister community) became more than a place to live — it became a place to keep growing, connecting, and embracing life.

After a sudden illness changed everything, Michele arrived determined not to slow down. Today, she’s known for her enthusiasm, advocacy, volunteer spirit, and ability to bring people together. Your support helps create communities where older adults can continue discovering purpose, friendship, creativity, and joy every day.

As Michele says: “It feels personal.”
