Kids Quest offers kids the opportunity to volunteer and learn valuable skills while giving back. Three sisters in Pitman, New Jersey are determined to prove to the world that kids can make a difference at any age! Lindsay (age 20), Katelyn (age 16), and Brenna (age 11) Darrow-Eystad started an outreach program for children called, “Kids on a Quest” that encourages youth to give back within Glouces
ter County, NJ and are welcoming children of all ages to join! Each month, the group of charitable children complete a volunteer project. In the past, they held an “Alex’s Lemonade Stand”, made cards for elderly nursing home residents, did a “Rake-And-Run” in South Jersey where the children raked strangers yards for no cost, among other service projects. The girls realize how busy families are, and welcome people who can’t always make the monthly meetings. Upon joining, kids will receive an official membership card, official Kids on a Quest t-shirt, and an informational packet. The sisters are no strangers to volunteering. Katelyn Darrow-Eystad founded a 501c3 nonprofit organization, Angels of God, when she was just 12-years-old. “Because I started a charity at a young age, I personally know the impact that children can make. Youth can change the world and that’s why my sisters and I started Kids on a Quest.”
Brenna, the youngest sister, knows that kids are often underestimated. “Even though I’m only eleven, I know that I can change the world.” She has worked alongside her older sisters volunteering, and giving to others. She spearheaded the program, “Kidz Corner” where she gives toys to children in need. Growing up, each of the girls had trouble finding an organization they could volunteer at. Their young age was a barrier at many organizations, because of age restrictions. The Darrow-Eystad’s mission is to encourage young people to make a difference. The program offers kids the opportunity to volunteer and learn valuable skills while giving back. They aim to teach children that at any age, they can give back through volunteer opportunities in their community. Kids on a Quest meets monthly at the Pitman Manor on the third Wednesday of every month.
