17 Strong We are non-profit created by Ryan Teixeira to send young adults with life threatening illnesses on a “victory trip” of their choice.

In 2015, Ryan Teixeira, a high school baseball player from Pismo Beach, CA was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma (soft tissue). The combination of treatments and a major surgery lasted about a year. He was able to go to Colorado Mesa University on his baseball scholarship when he was healthy enough. About 9 months later the cancer returned, this time as Acute Myeloid Leukemia (a side-effect of the ch

emo used for his previous cancer). Unfortunately this cancer was more aggressive and March 4th, 2017, after a long hard battle in the hospital for 5 months, Ryan went to be with Jesus. Ryan had an infectious personality and a drive to help others. Because Ryan turned 18 before the cancer was diagnosed, he did not qualify for available Make-A-Wish programs. From that moment Ryan was determined to make his own non-profit called "17 Strong" that would allow people like him to have a "Victory Trip." His family is living out his wish by carrying his legacy through 17 Strong and striving to help others as he would have wanted.

“What started as the excitement of growing our family quickly became the fight of my life.” ♋️

After a molar pregnancy turned into a rare and aggressive cancer, Tiffany endured chemotherapy, multiple blood clots, heart surgery, and countless setbacks on her road to remission. In January 2024, she finally heard the words she had fought so hard for: cancer-free.

This Victory Trip came at exactly the right time. The month that once held so much heartbreak became a month of healing, reflection, and gratitude. It gave Tiffany and her husband the chance to slow down, reconnect, and celebrate how far they’ve come.
“For so long, cancer consumed my mind. This trip felt like a way to close that chapter and move forward.”

Today, we celebrate Tiffany’s strength, resilience, and the beautiful life waiting on the other side of survival. 💙✈️

At 39 years old, Lindsay was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. ♋️

What followed were years of chemotherapy, surgeries, radiation, ongoing treatments, and challenges that tested her in every way imaginable.

Her Victory Trip was more than a vacation—it was a chance to heal. 🙏
