AmpSurf™ is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to Promote, Inspire, Educate, and Rehabilitate (PIER) all people with disabilities and their families through Adaptive Surf Therapy and other outdoor activities One in five Americans struggle with a lifelong disability and nearly two million men and women have served our country in Iraq and Afghanistan and are coming home looking for ways

to feel whole again and to fit back in to 'normal' life. Whether they served in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, the Gulf war, Iraq or Afghanistan. Whether they are a child with autism, or a young woman who has lost a limb to cancer, AmpSurf offers a unique program to bring the healing power of the ocean and adaptive surfing together for an experience that is both mentally and physically rehabilitating.

Today, AmpSurf in partnership with VA Boston Adaptive Sports Program, held our (somewhat) Annual Waves For the Brave surf clinic for Veterans at Nantasket Beach in Hull. While each clinic has its own vibe, today's clinic was truly unique. There were almost no waves, and fewer participants than we usually have, but everyone had a fantastic time. With a smaller clinic we were able to share the stoke of surfing with our white shirt volunteers, many who are rehab professionals at VA Boston, and engage in some unique team building activities in the water. Special shoutouts to DCR who did an outstanding job hosting us and taking care of our Veterans and Volunteers, the Newton Lodge of Elks who provided a wonderful lunch for everyone, and Linda Magee Hurley for providing special gifts to our Veterans in attendance. This past Saturday, AmpSurf New England, in partnership with Legacy Realty put on another spectacular Adaptive Surf Clinic at Nahant Beach just north of Boston. Many thanks to all of our volunteers, especially Jose Fernando Calderas who took the leadership role on this clinic and JR Matthews for facilitating sponsorship for the event. Last week AmpSurf New England provided a 2 day surf clinic for 48 Disabled Veterans at the 17th Annual New England Summer Sports Clinic in Middletown Rhode Island.
