Brevard Academy Recognizes Darlene Loftin with the Marisol Gollnick Golden Leaf Award
Brevard, NC – Brevard Academy proudly recognizes Darlene Loftin as the recipient of the Marisol Gollnick Golden Leaf Award, an honor presented by the Brevard Academy PTO and sponsored by Blue Ridge Bakery. The award celebrates individuals who consistently go above and beyond in service to the Brevard Academy community.
Ms. Loftin has become an invaluable part of the school community through her daily support of third-grade students and her unwavering commitment to helping every child succeed. Colleagues note that she builds strong relationships with students and consistently creates a positive, encouraging environment where children feel supported and valued.
“Although I do not work with her on a daily basis, I consistently observe the genuine care, patience, and dedication she shows to the third graders she supports each day,” one colleague shared. “She builds strong relationships with students and always puts their needs first, creating a positive and encouraging environment for them to grow and succeed.”
Beyond her work in the classroom, Ms. Loftin demonstrates an exceptional willingness to serve the broader school community. She regularly volunteers her time after school to support student activities, including assisting with volleyball and taking on leadership responsibilities with the Pep Squad.
Another colleague described her impact by saying, “Darlene is an integral part of the 3rd-grade team as well as the school. She comes in every day with a positive attitude and willingness to step in wherever needed to support students and her colleagues. She is loved by students and staff and is simply fun to be around.”
Staff members also recognize her energy and versatility across many areas of school life.
“Darlene is a true all-star at Brevard Academy,” another coworker noted. “Her willingness to jump into any role—regardless of the grade level or the hour—is inspiring. Whether she is coaching the Pep Squad, assisting with Boys Volleyball, or checking in on students during P.E., she does it all with a contagious, positive attitude. Her smile at the gym door is a highlight of my day.”
Ms. Loftin’s passion for working with children, strong work ethic, and readiness to help wherever needed exemplify the spirit of the Marisol Gollnick Golden Leaf Award. Her dedication continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students and staff across the Brevard Academy community.
