A joyous moment of the CMANA Golden Jubilee celebrations was the ceremonial cutting of the CMANA 50 cake, marking five decades of service to Carnatic music and culture.

Surrounded by founders, past presidents, patrons, artists, volunteers, and rasikas, the occasion was filled with pride, gratitude, and fond memories.

As we celebrated our past, we also renewed our commitment to carrying CMANA's legacy forward for generations to come.

A highlight of CMANA 50 was the engaging Lec-Dem by Vidwan Patri Satish Kumar, who offered fascinating insights into the artistry, aesthetics, and evolving role of percussion in Carnatic music.

Combining scholarship, humor, and masterful demonstrations, the session captivated both musicians and rasikas alike.

The festival commenced on an auspicious note with a vibrant presentation of Thiruppugazh, the timeless devotional hymns of Saint Arunagirinathar in praise of Lord Muruga. Led by Smt. Jayashree Ramakrishnan and Smt. Subha Srinivasan, the presentation brought together devotees and rasikas in a spiritually uplifting start to CMANA's Golden Jubilee celebrations.

With immense gratitude and a sense of fulfillment, CMANA successfully concluded its Golden Jubilee 50th Anniversary Festival held from May 23–25, 2026.

What began in 1976 as the dream of a handful of passionate volunteers has now completed fifty remarkable years of service to Carnatic music, culture, and community. This milestone celebration brought together legendary artists, emerging talent, dedicated volunteers, generous patrons, community leaders, and rasikas from across North America and beyond.

Over the coming days, we will be sharing photographs and memories from each program of the festival. Through these posts, we hope to relive the music, dance, devotion, camaraderie, and countless moments that made CMANA 50 a truly historic celebration.

To every artist, donor, sponsor, volunteer, board member, supporter, and Rasika who helped make this festival a success, we offer our heartfelt thanks. Your encouragement and participation have strengthened CMANA's mission as we look forward to the next fifty years.
