APSE 2026!
Theresa Santana, Executive Director, and Liam D’Aquila, Lead Production Associate, proudly represented Popcorn for the People at the national conference in Dallas. Together, they shared how our organization successfully transitioned from a sheltered workshop model to true Competitive Integrated Employment (CIE). We transitioned to CIE by welcoming neurotypical staff, implementing a clear career advancement structure with new leadership roles, and reshaping departments to create greater opportunities.
Liam’s powerful story as a valued team member and leader on our production floor inspired everyone in the room.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to spotlight what’s possible when we open doors and invest in every employee.
Here’s to more inclusive workplaces and brighter futures for neurodiverse talent!

What an incredible month it’s been celebrating Autism Acceptance Month with our amazing team!
Throughout April, our Popcorn for the People crew was out in the community — popping at events, sharing our mission of meaningful employment for talented adults with autism and developmental disabilities, and of course, selling our delicious gourmet popcorn. Every bag popped supports real jobs, real skills, and real pride for our team members. ❤️
