MSE Grads,
Once again, our officers are running unopposed and so there will be no real “running.” Effective immediately, your new MSE GSA officers are as follows:

President - Ross Rucker
Vice President - Paul Kim
Treasurer - Riyanka Pai
Secretary - Arya Tewatia

Due to my impending Ph.D, I (Josh Epstein) did not run for reelection this year. I am writing this e-mail to say that it has been an absolute pleasure serving the MSE community.
Before 2012, when I began as vice-president, the MSE GSA was not an active group. It existed, but that was about it. I, alongside Will Paxton, Riyanka Pai and Paul Kim, began event series like the MSE GSA Open Mic Night, Year’s End and Summer’s End BBQs, Movie Nights, Game Nights and, of course, Unofficial Bar Nights. Event series that I hope will continue in perpetuity, along with whatever new events your current officers come up with. I am almost sorry I won’t be here to see what they do together.
These officers will make a great team as they are all smart, capable, helpful and fun to work with. I want to give them special thanks and recognition for their efforts.
I want to thank Ross Rucker for his enthusiasm and willingness to help in any way. He made an excellent secretary last year and will make an even better president this year.
Riyanka Pai deserves thanks for keeping our books, doing our paperwork, and basically handling all of the boring complicated stuff for us for three years. Without her, we couldn’t have done anything.
Thanks go to Paul Kim for saving us money at, and constantly reminding us of, Costco.
Arya is a newcomer to office and yet couldn’t be better suited for it. His excitement and fresh ideas will be a welcome addition to the MSE GSA.
Mostly though, I want to thank you all for participating in our events and giving us the encouragement to keep it up. I am proud to have contributed to this great community. I hope the MSE GSA never falls again.

Thank you all,
Josh Epstein (Former MSE GSA President)
