Miami County Dental Clinic - 🌟!!

The impact of Traveling Smiles at the Miami County Board of Developmental Disabilities is incredible!

We cared for a patient today who hadn’t received dental care in 13 years. Mom was worried she wouldn’t open her mouth for anyone, but she successfully completed x-rays, a cleaning, and a fluoride treatment!

Mom was thrilled—and so were we! 💙

The The Salvation Army's Summer Lunch Program started this week, and they could use a little help with take-home items for the weekend... read more below. People Helping People is what we do here in Miami County!

As we prepare to launch our summer lunch program next week, we are reaching out to solicit donations of take-home items to help provide weekend meals for the children. We are grateful for the community's support last summer, which enabled us to provide take-home items to every child throughout the summer. We are currently in need of non-perishable items such as canned soups, canned pasta, peanut butter, jelly, macaroni and cheese, ramen noodles, and other simple meal solutions.

We are so thankful to be a part of such a caring and supportive community. Thank you United Way of Miami County Ohio and the Student United Way for their support of Miami clients, including those who receive care through our school-based program. Additionally, we are always appreciative of Miami County Foundation for their ongoing support of our mission. It is such a blessing to be a part of such an incredible community.

Last week, we were honored to celebrate a project envisioned, planned, and championed by some amazing Troy Junior High School students.

They submitted a grant application that was thoughtful, well-researched, and compelling—not just because it demonstrated the need for outdoor recreation equipment at TJHS, but also because it articulated the meaningful impact it would have on their fellow students. Their effort reflected maturity, compassion, and a genuine commitment to making their school community better for everyone.

What impressed us most was the care they showed for all students, including those with disabilities. Their vision was one of inclusion, opportunity, and belonging—values that strengthen a community! We are proud to support their efforts and thrilled to see their vision become a reality.

Thank you to the Miami County Foundation for your generous support of Troy Christian’s Early Childhood program!

Because of your investment, we will be able to replace our sandbox pavilion with a new, safe, and durable structure for our youngest learners to enjoy for years to come. 💚💛
