Bringing Services Closer to Home

We're excited to welcome the Miami County Mobile Unit to Bethany Center on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

For many of our neighbors, transportation can be one of the biggest barriers to getting help. By bringing these services directly to Bethany Center, access is easier than ever—and for some, even within walking distance.

Whether you need help with public assistance programs, Medicaid, SNAP benefits, childcare assistance, resume preparation, job searches, training opportunities, or resource referrals, the Mobile Unit is here to serve you.

📍 Bethany Center
339 South St., Piqua

Please help us spread the word to anyone who may benefit from these services. Together, we can make sure help is easier to reach for those who need it most.

See the attached flyers for a list of available services.

Spring is underway, and summer is fast approaching.
As Bethany Center celebrates 25 years of serving our community, we’re reminded that year by year, season by season, it has always been many hands, one purpose. Neighbors, volunteers, churches, businesses, and supporters continue coming together to make sure essential services are here for those who need them most.
For 25 years, it has been a community effort, united by a shared purpose: serving our neighbors with love.

Many Hands. One Purpose.

Every day at Bethany Center, it takes many hands to serve our neighbors—hands that prepare meals, stock shelves, sort clothing, offer encouragement, and show compassion.

To our volunteers, donors, partner churches, and community supporters… thank you.
Because of you, we are able to meet real needs with dignity, respect, and love.

This work isn’t possible without you. Together, we are making a difference—one person, one meal, one act of kindness at a time.

❤️ Thank you for being the hands that help.

A huge thank you to the students and staff from Lehman Catholic for spending their Day of Service with us at Bethany Center!

From organizing in the clothing bank, to assisting in the food pantry, to cleaning up our porches—you truly went above and beyond to help us serve our neighbors. Your energy, teamwork, and willingness to jump in wherever needed made a real impact.

We are so grateful for your generous yes to serving, volunteering, and making a difference in our community. Because of you, Bethany Center continues to be a welcoming place for all.

Thank you, Lehman Catholic! đź’™

A big thank you to our friends at St. John’s Lutheran in Covington for spending part of their day serving at Bethany Center.

There are hundreds of little (and not so little) jobs behind the scenes that keep our 30,000-square-foot building running well, and today they jumped right in. They deep-cleaned our fabric chairs using a carpet-style spot extractor, dusted ceiling fans, organized storage areas, swept and mopped the community room, moved items where they needed to go, sanded and oiled our counters, cleaned high chairs, polished stainless steel in the kitchen, and washed glass doors throughout the building.

Area churches like St. John’s truly help Bethany Center be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community. We’re grateful for their willingness to show up and help wherever needed.

For 25 years, Bethany Center has served a lot of meals — around 18,000 each year. And with all those meals comes a whole lot of dishes. That part of the work isn’t glamorous, but it’s absolutely necessary, and we’re thankful for the folks willing to roll up their sleeves and jump into the dish room.

There’s no way to name everyone who has helped over the years, but we do want to recognize a few and say how much it matters.

One we especially want to mention is Robney Chilcoat — most of us know him as Cappy. Cappy was around since the very beginning in 2001. He showed up early, showed up often, and just kept doing the small things that make a place run. For nearly 20 years, he faithfully worked in the background washing dishes, cleaning up, and helping make each day possible.

And to everyone who has spent time in the dish room through the years — thank you. You may not always be seen, but you are a big part of why this place works.

We are grateful to the Piqua Community Foundation and the Miami County foundation for their generous support of Bethany Center’s food pantry in 2025. Their continued partnership helps us provide nutritious food to families in our community who need it most.

In 2025 we served over 900 people per month through the Bethany Center food pantry.

Thank you for standing with us as we work to help our neighbors in need.
