Dear friends of the Folklife Center:

I would like to call your attention to the 🌎 🎶 Earth Day Celebration that is happening on April 18th at the Folklife Center. Our long standing friends, and board members Lori and Robert have organized and emcee'd this event for many years. Their hard work and passion have made this one of the Center's most beloved and meaningful events.

The RiffRaff and the Folklife Center have been close partners for 20 years, and the events that we co-sponsor are always memorable. We hope all of our friends will come out for Earth Day and that more people will become acquainted with our magic mountain. There are great things happening in our community.

Hello friends:
We could use your help!
It's fundraising time.

Our camping season is finished, and Learning Day Camp and Culturefest are complete. We are now moving into our "off season" - poorly named, because this is the time we work hardest to set up projects and work on the site - there is just no income.

As usual I am doing a fundraiser, and I hope you will consider helping us out. I am going to do it this year without using the online fundraising program. I figure I could save myself the bank fees and save all of you the pressure to "tip" or donate to the banking industry. We have appreciated your donations in years past and hope to continue supporting our community with your help.

We had a very good work camp season. We did several homes, built handicap ramps, repaired walls, painted, cleaned and installed floors. We did some community buildings as well.

We have made large improvements to the center - much of it from your donations, but most of it from work camp fees. We have added a porch to the dining hall (originally for rainwater management, but also a great place to enjoy sitting). We have revamped the Children's Dorm, repaired plumbing, added decking to the chapel, installed a new heating system in the dining hall and we have done finish-work in the Connie and Donnie dorms. The kitchen will need new flooring to pass inspection.
