As we remember Sully today, please also remember those that struggle with addiction and the stigma that keeps them from reaching out for help. Those who knew Sully, remember how he would help anyone who needed him to listen, to take them to a meeting, or to be there as an empathetic friend. In his honor, today, reach out to someone who needs your listening, compassionate touch. In silence, people die.

Forever Sully! 02.28.1990 ~ 09.09.2010

Today we remember Sullivan's 28th birthday, with sadness yet much love, memories and hope. On this warm, clear day, I imagine Sully would take a hike to his favorite spots in nature, write in his journal, and help a friend through a hard time. We can all do the same in his memory.

Many people who do not have first hand experience with living with someone addicted to he**in are against the use of suboxone as a method of treating he**in and other op**te addictions (Most popular is the over perscribed Oxycodone or Oxycontin) . As stated in the article:

"Unlike pain pills and he**in, Suboxone (generic name: buprenorphine) is very hard to overdose on. Addicts can take it to avoid withdrawal symptoms and manage their cravings for these drugs."

What is most important but not mentioned is that the natural pain killers of the body, endorphins, are blocked with the use of an opiot and it takes about two years of Suboxone therapy to repair these receptors. Many addicts feel better with in a matter of weeks and discontinue the use of Suboxone, leading to relapse.

The first part of the article is a bit of drama but please read on...

A prescription drug helps wean people off he**in and pills. But it's hard to get a prescription.

Not everyone has been able to access Sully's fb page. Glenn and I decided to make Sully's Rock Foundation a forum not only for support information but also for friends and family to post messages. We have been told by fb that Sully's personal page has been "memorialized". Basically we have been blocked and the site has been frozen. We are very upset by this and will legally fight to have administrative rights to his site given to us. I (Jessica) cannot even get onto his site anymore. Glenn and I feel that Sullivan's family and friends need this forum to continue to communicate with each other and with him. There are messages to share with others and Sullivan's love will continue to reach us and we will continue to share his message with you. Forever Sully.
