If you have not met the Farm Puppies then you should.

An amazing DNA and we have 4 boys and 4 girls.

Rusty is the big boy in the litter. He is sweet and always the first one to follow.

Buck is Mr naughty but with the perfect amount of sweetness.

Ranger is the chill boy, he likes to enjoy the outside air.

John Deer or JD is a love bug. The last one to leave the party!

Rosie is unassuming. Always watching from the sidelines.

Dalia is a little cutie, petite but likes to let you know she loves the attention.

Dixie is also a love bug and on the petite side!

Lastly is Honey, our little munchkin, but this little one has so much love to give.

The entire little is super sweet. They are 8 weeks old and looking for there forever homes soon.

We knew her as Hope, she was one of our mama’s and we have such a love for any of the dogs we bring in with litters. She was adopted two and a half years ago and they renamed her Sunny.

According to her adopter, she was a pushy dog, dominating the children in the home. It was apparent the kids were not a fan of her. The family did some basic training, but she spent quite a bit of time at the kennel. None of the training appeared to be focusing on the issue in which was the major complaint, which was regarding the children.

We picked her up from the kennel. The kennel was surprised to learn that we were picking her up and she had been surrendered back to the rescue. They had no idea and only had nice things to say about her. They had known her the entire 2.5 years.

Sunny has been with me for several days and I am yet to see any of these behaviors. She did growl at one of the other dogs over food and that was quickly corrected. I have to say I was expecting a really difficult dog coming back and I am not seeing any of the behaviors I was told she presented.

Sunny is in a home with three other dogs and many puppies and she has been nothing but lovely.

Sunny has bonded with Leilani, another foster. She hangs and they explore the property together. Sunny is mindful and responds to her name being called, Leilani comes on default.

Sunny has come to like and sleep on a cot with a blanket next to my bed. At night she remains on her cot. She does not roam but stays nearby occasionally checking in to make sure all is well.

I do not have a lot of visitors but I do have some people working on the property. She is not an issue with anyone coming to the door.

She is house trained, crate trained, good in the car and she is absolutely a fabulous dog. I do not have young kids, so I can not relate to the behaviors I was told she presented. So I am saying a household with older kids, but more importantly a dog savvy household.

She is good on leash and she is the most gentle girl. She looks at me with the most adoring eyes, almost doe like. I really like this sweet girl and look forward to her finding her forever home. She just needs to connect with her family and know what the boundaries are. To be honest that is any dog and it is key knowing you are wanted. We are also open to a foster to adopt.

The past few days this has been this rescues project! Finding a place for these five pups, as well as several others, to find foster homes for all to go to.

The need for foster families is very real, as we have so many dogs in need. These types of requests just don’t stop, they are frustrating and come to us daily. The hard part is these families learn nothing as we bail them out. That is the biggest heartbreak!

Reading a recent email of someone demanding, asking when we are sending food, as they are on a fixed income. I will tell you, it is hard with rude and entitled people. But we know if we don’t send the food or take the dogs, they will be the ones that suffer.

But having to remember this is about the dogs and many are not in good homes or situations. This is the most difficult part of rescue and refraining from telling the people…..where they can go.

The fact they think we have the money and believe we can afford it…..rude. These are funds we have been honored by our followers to trust us to continue to do the work we do. No one wants to help someone who expects and does not appreciate. I am of the mindset, you take from the pot, you give back to the pot. This does not always have to be monetary, but volunteering and making change, that is the way in order to help.

We work hard at the fine balance of raising the funds and caring for all these dogs. So far this year this rescue has brought in 380 dogs and we still have four more months left in this year.

Yesterday, we were working on getting these five puppies to be dropped off for an appointment at the vet. All of this is in an attempt to stop the cycle. The final text….at the end of the day….stated the owner wanted to keep the female!

Are you kidding???

This is cultural, this becomes about education, this becomes about us teaching the children of the future about what needs to happen. Spay and neuter!!! This is the ONLY answer to changing the issue we have in this state.

Schools need to be teaching to the children a curriculum about animal welfare and responsible ownership as this is the future.

It is beyond frustrating to read the words and understand the attitude of “I just want to see my female dog become a mama.”

They apparently did not understand that they had a difficult time finding a place for five puppies to go at ten weeks. Why on earth would keeping the female to allow her to have her own puppies be a good idea? At what point in time does this ever seem like a good idea? I can’t help but think about the other puppies already given away. They will be the future dogs along with their puppies needing to be fixed!

The response was simple, I take all five or I take none. I have to walk away for
Self preservation and try to reset my mindset that this is not every situation and everyone deserves the opportunity to receive help. This is the ugly side of rescue.

We still need foster families for more puppies in homes. As they keep coming and they are already here.

Stop the cycle and spay and neuter! Corporate vets need to help the crisis and offer no cost or low cost spays and neuters as this is not going to stop!

We just want to come to you with a very sweet pupdate!

A few days ago we shared with you the puppies that were dumped at ACT in Stockton. Originally, you only heard about the first two, but there was a third. He is a beautiful Pomeranian, who happens to be blind, but don’t tell him that.

The other two were adorable schnauzer mixes who were named Birdie and Bear. As expected, they quickly found their forever homes. Our sweet, blind boy affectionately named Stevie hadn’t yet had his post, but it wasn’t necessary. He went to an event at Blackhawk Country Club, shortly after arriving at his fosters home and quickly met his forever family that day. They fell in love with his gentle sweet nature and his blindness meant nothing to them when it came to picking him. 

Stevie may be blind, but he navigates the world with the most upbeat spirit, loving soul, confidence of a dog 10 times his size and a zest for life that is unmatched. We are so thankful to the families that proved to these dogs that not all humans are bad and will completely rewrite their story.

ACT is an amazing partner to our Rescue. They provide the much needed low cost spays and neuters not only to their community, but to our Rescue as well. Additionally, being the facility they are, they sometimes end up a dumping spot for these sweet souls. When they reach out for help, we never say no. After all, this is a community who believes in working together.

We want to thank ACT for reaching out and entrusting in our ability to do right by these sweet puppies. We also want to thank the families for giving these otherwise forgotten babes, a new life 💙🐾

We LOVE a silly video compilation, especially when the star of the show is our curvaceous redheaded cougar, Reba! But all jokes aside… this sweet senior girl really is ready for her forever home.

Reba is fully housebroken and has officially entered her “I’ve worked hard my whole life and now I’d like to relax, please” era. She’s all about a slower, easygoing lifestyle. She doesn’t ask for much from her humans. A comfy place to nap, some good snacks, a little attention and a whole lot of love will pretty much have her living her best life.

And while Reba may not require much from you, she sure has plenty of love to give in return. She’s the kind of girl who would love nothing more than to spend her golden years being someone’s beloved companion.

We had a fabulous day at Blackhawk Country Club where folks came out to meet many of our pups as well as a few adult dogs!

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped out, what amazing village.

We had a few dogs where this was their first debut. Starting with Mac, our handsome boy, a pointer mix. He has the best personality, great with the kids and of course other dogs.

Hazel, our spicy red,as well as “the littles” also attended. Stevie, joined us as well. This is our little blind Pomeranian mix. We had such a fun mix of dogs.

Juniper, Murphy and Sara also were a hit and making lots of friends and finally the “Farm litter!”

We ended the day with a total of four adoptions. Thank you to Blackhawk Country Club for hosting this amazing event!

Even the weather cooperated! ❤️

Outside of the event we had Kai and Charlotte head off to their forever homes!! Such a fantastic day!!!

It is so hard when we get a last minute text from the shelter begging for our help. We were told this petite mama and her 5 babies needed a commitment from rescue, by the end of the day or the whole family would be euthanized.

This is due to the shelter being at full capacity. The sad part is by our taking this family it only opens one kennel, but it spares 6 lives.

Mama Kira is now safe with us and she is loving being in a foster home. She will be able to continue to love and care for her babies as we have given her a chance.

Kira is lovely! She is obviously proud of her babies. She openly loves and shares them with anyone who wants to meet them. She is absolutely adorable. She is very petite, weighing about 40lbs. As for her pups they are ridiculously adorable and at almost three weeks old are looking like they will be much bigger than their mama.

Four boys and one girl, makes up this is the litter. We are in the process of naming the litter, but it will be another music theme.

Ok, so I’m guessing the two little scruff nuggets below brought you here. We know… we had to do a double take too. Not really sure how that much cuteness is packed into such tiny little bodies!

Around here, it’s usually shepherds, huskies, pitties, and every other “large and in charge” pup you can think of. But every once in a while, rescue throws us a curveball!

Meet Birdie and Bear

A couple of weeks ago, these two tiny scruffy puppies were left behind in a milk crate outside of a veterinary clinic. Thankfully, their story didn’t end there. The fantastic team at ACT in Stockton did such an amazing job keeping these babies loved and safe while they looked for help.

We believe they’re Mini Schnauzer/Maltese mixes, and they are absolutely overflowing with personality. They’re hilarious, playful, incredibly snuggly, and have mastered the art of stealing hearts in record time. They’re the kind of puppies that make you laugh one minute and melt into your lap the next.

If you’ve been waiting for a smaller companion, this is your chance! These little fluffballs won’t stay available for long, so get those applications in before someone else scoops up all this scruffy cuteness. CalPaws.org is where to find them!
