Linus, Linus, Linus… we truly don’t understand how this perfect boy is still with us!

Linus originally came to Calpaws from Stockton Animal Services with a broken pelvis. He needed FHO surgery and a safe place to land for 6–8 weeks of recovery. Thankfully, Stephanie, Mike, Henry, and Willow opened their home and gave this sweet boy exactly what he needed.

Now Linus is fully healed and ready for a home of his own. He is leash trained, potty trained, crate trained, and brother-and-sister trained. He loves kids, people, and other dogs. We aren’t totally sure how he would do with cats, but knowing Linus, he’d probably just be his sweet, easygoing self.

Linus would love a dog sibling to romp and roll with, or a human who is down for a stroll or two. He would be an amazing fit for a newer dog household because he is just that good of a boy.

And let’s be honest… those ears are absolutely to die for and would make the best brunch conversation starter.

Linus is healed, happy, and so ready for his forever family. 🤍🐾

It’s the sweet things that fosters say that we love to share on our sweet Vicky!

“A month ago, my husband and I welcomed our first foster dog, a 5-month-old pup found tied to a pole in the South Bay. Her name is Vicky.
2026 is about doing things I actually want to do, not waiting for everything to align perfectly. And one of my deepest goal is to care for more animals.

So one Sunday morning, mid side-biz grind, my husband tagged me in a post from one of our favorite rescues CalPaws K9 Rescue. I hit apply before he could even say a word (knowing he'd be ok). Two hours later we got a call. By that evening, we were approved. (The rescue owner is British, by the way. If that's not a sign, I don't know what is.)
A few days later, we drove an hour south to pick her up with zero idea how this would work with our crazy work schedules, our city life and our first dog Milo. We just had a lot of love to give. And sometimes, that's enough.

Fast forward to today: Vicky has grown enormously.
Zero reactivity. Pure playfulness. full of beans. She's becoming the dog every family would love to have.

Foster work is not for the faint of heart, you fall in love you get tested, you learn about yourself.
But this journey has been already rewarding.
Today I'm sharing her profile hoping she finds her forever family. She deserves the absolute best.

Atlas is a loving boy who perfectly balances a charming independence with a strong desire to please. This energetic pup lives for having a job to do whether it’s training, playing, or learning something new. He absolutely thrives in obedience work and is highly food motivated, making him a rockstar in any training setting.

Atlas has also completed a board and train program and is ready to show off all the skills he’s learned! Potential adopters are welcome to come down and work with him firsthand to see just how smart, eager, and responsive he truly is.

Atlas is the kind of dog who’s always ready for action. Runs, hikes, games of fetch you name it, he’s in. And when the day winds down, he’s just as happy being your shadow, sticking close by your side or relaxing at your feet.

Meet Magnum!

He is a handsome, healthy, 3 yr old boy who is being spoiled with lots of adventures with his foster family.

He wakes up every morning just waiting to see what fun is planned! Some days it means a hike, and some days it means some crate time or lounging around. He is a good boy!

Magnum could do well as an only dog, or will need slow, monitored introductions to new dog friends. He is doing great with his foster families two dogs, but it took about 2 weeks for him to figure out his “status” in the pack.

He has excellent manners & would love a forever family that wants to include him in their adventures.

Sadie 🐾🐾 checks all the boxes.

At just 14 months old, this gorgeous 70 pound German Shepherd mix is the total package sweet, gentle, goofy, affectionate, and ready to find her forever family.

She rides great in the car, loves hikes and daily walks, plays with toys like the puppy she still is, and is calm to other dogs.

She’s also:
✔️ Potty trained
✔️ Ok to be left alone
✔️ Quiet and well-mannered in the home
✔️ Loves walks and outdoor time
✔️ Would LOVE a yard to run and play in
✔️ Knows commands: come, sit, shake, no, and up
✔️ Equal parts smart and silly

Sadie has that fun shepherd energy mixed with a gentle soul. One minute she’s proudly showing off her “shake,” and the next she’s leaning against you for love, attention and belly rubs.

Bonnie, Ducati, Harley, Tank, Yamaha, Kawi, and Triumph!

These little German Shepherd/Pittie mix babies came to us in the hardest way… after their mom was hit by a car and didn’t make it. They were tiny, fragile, and completely dependent so we stepped in and bottle fed them around the clock.

Fast forward to now… they are 7 weeks old tomorrow and absolutely thriving. Full of life, personality, and so much love to give. Watching them grow from those first scary days into the happy, healthy pups they are now has been everything.

Now it’s their turn to find forever homes ❤️

Meet King—a truly solid, easygoing pup who has seamlessly settled into his foster home. Despite his young age, King has a calm and surprisingly chill personality that makes him a joy to be around.

He’s eager to please and loves being close to his people, whether that means curling up in his bed with a toy or relaxing next to you on the couch. King has that perfect balance of playful and laid-back, making him a wonderful companion for everyday life.

In his foster home, King shares space with a 13-month-old human who occasionally “shares” her meals—sneaking him handfuls of food. King gently accepts every bite with such a soft mouth, they almost never get caught!

King also lives with several cats and has done well with them. Like many young dogs, he may chase if they run or jump, but he responds to correction and is learning quickly. With continued guidance, he could do well in a home with cats.

This incredibly friendly boy loves everyone he meets—people and dogs alike. He rides beautifully in the car, usually settling down for a nap, and walks fairly well on a leash. He can get excited on walks and may pull a bit when he wants to say hello, but his enthusiasm is all part of his loving nature.

King sleeps in his crate every night and will even put himself to bed if his humans are taking too long. During the day, he may protest briefly when crated alone, but he settles in after a few moments.

Sweet, affectionate, and full of charm, King has the most soulful golden eyes and a heart to match. He truly is the total package—and would make an incredible addition to a lucky family.
