ROV’s are charged up and ready to explore the waters this week.

The Gladius is capable of diving down 300ft and has (2) 2000 lumes LED headlights with a 4k camera. Also has some neat features such as holding its postion under water as well as attaching an arm to it to pick up items resting on the bottom.

The small ROV known as “Chasing Dory” is Light weight and easy to deploy. It can dive down to 49 feet. Added a remote control for a more user friendly drive.

Whether you’re going to enjoy the day on the water by yourself or with some friends. Here are some great and cheap ways to help keep everyone on Board Safe.

My personal Favorites are the inflatable life jackets (especially in the summer time) and the water sensitive PFD strobe light.

Hello everyone, I have created this page in hopes to fill a gap that I have noticed in our local search and rescue capabilities here in Southern Maryland.

Let me be clear in saying I am in NO way intending to dis- credit any local authorities. I understand they have a protocol to follow and must listen to there chain of command.

That said: This is how I came to this idea of A- Water Bourne Search And Rescue/Recovery Group. Funded By the people For the people. To help assist and aid in the search for missing loved ones.

Without having to abide by all the local politics of being funded by the Government.

**I will need a lot of help from everyone along the way.
DISCLAIMER- I am in no way a professional in Search and Rescue**

I have tried my hardest searching for some local missing people, with no luck so far.

Equipment I have purchased to help in these searches are -
• Garmin Gps w/ down and side scan sonar, w/active captain ability’s to share and send info picked up by sonar.
• ROV made by chasing Dory inc- 50ft diving capabilities. Live view camera footage with option to take photos with Two bright LED lights.
• 15 ft Boston Whaler with a 50hp engine. Boat was owned prior to these incidents.

Some issues I have run into with some equipment I purchased
• The ROV’s 50ft max depth is an issue as I can’t reach the the bottom of the channels to search those areas. They make better but more expensive ROVs that are user friendly( I think it would make a phenomenal asset in assisting with current and future searches of the Bay/ Patuxent river /Potomac River.

*******MY SHORT TERM GOAL********

• Purchase better Equipment with the intent to reunite family members faster with there loved ones.

• Have this equipment available 24/7 to anyone local in need

• Find ways to utilize this equipment to produce funding outside of this group (I want to personally participate in funding this endeavor)

• TRANSPARENCY- This is the most important to me. I want to be transparent in everything I do related to this group/page. Any and all funding will be accounted for. Receipts for proof of purchases. All group funding will be solely for the purpose of bettering the capabilities of search and rescue.

• Proper training to make myself and anyone who wants to be apart of this efficient at what we’re doing. Without training we are just able bodies.

Future training - SAR (Search and Rescue), Dive training, Boaters safety course for new members, CPR training and First Aid, Proper MOB (Man Over Board Drills).

As we have come to learn time is of the essence, in these tricky situations. ESPECIALLY when water tempts are 35 degrees in the winter. I would like to provide faster response and service times.

I currently hold the following certification and training in

•Hazardous Materials operations
•Principles of building Construction: Combustible •Principles of building Construction: Non- Combustable
•NIMS Incident command system for Fire Service •Rescue Technician: Site Operations
•Rescue Technician: Vehicle and Machinery extrication
•Engine company Fire-ground Operations
• Man over board training, use of proper equipment and how to safely postion a vessel to recover someone out of the water
