Carrie Me On is a non-profit that provides nutritional and healthcare access to rural terminal residents undergoing cancer treatment by ways of delivery and transportation. During the time leading up to her passing the overall operations of her household suffered. Outside of city limits, unable to take advantage of the benefits she worked so hard for, coordinating transportation to SCOA (South Car
olina Oncology Associates) was a doozy. Her husband, working two jobs to ensure the sustainability of his wife and two young daughters, struggled to make it to grocery stores in town during business hours. Needing round the clock care, time was not on their side. A true testament of love, her husband cared for her in her darkest days, passing in the spring of 2017
Officially founded in 2021, but serving the public since her passing in 2017, Carrie Me On is ready to grow. Its first goal is to obtain an accessible vehicle and employ appropriate staff to provide transportation services to and from treatment appointments. Recognizing the importance of proper funding, Carrie Me On has a series of projects and campaigns coordinated to reach its short and long-term goals. Amongst those is direct and crowd source funding, hosting a 5k with the city, a Chefโs competition with our sponsor 8th Wonder Cuisine, and ultimately a golf tournament promoting awareness for food deserts and the like.
