Breeze's tribute to Jackie

We are hosting a special presentation featuring Breeze, our resident American Bald Eagle. The title is "Breeze's tribute to Jackie." Our goal is to raise funds for the Friends of Big Bear Valley, which has been operating the now-famous eagle cam for years. We will also be donating to the Ojai Raptor Center, which treated Jackie for the last several weeks of her life.

Breeze's presentation begins at 4 PM, immediately after the raptor show ends. Guests seated in the raptor show will be asked if they wish to stay. We will then fill any remaining seats with guests from the Nature Center.

Hopefully, Breeze will come out and give everyone a chance to see a large, beautiful female bald eagle up close. If she does, we will ask everyone in attendance to chip in at least $10 towards the donation. At the end of August, we will be sending donations to these excellent organizations.

We will continue to have Breeze honor Jackie every show day for the rest of the month. You do not need tickets to the raptor show to see Breeze at 4 PM.

Tarantulas at the Nature Center

Can't wait, can you? We know your secrets. You always wanted a tarantula as a pet, right? Mom and Dad didn't know there was one living in your closet.

Now you can come out. Let the world know how much you love those furry spiders the size of dinner plates. If you simply aren't ready for that, just come to the Tarantula Sensational Speaker Series presentation this Saturday at 6 PM.

Being there will improve your chances of being cast as the next James Bond. Remember, he has to deal with tarantulas all the time. Knowing about them really helps. Or so they tell me.

Members are FREE. Non-members are only $5
