Abhimanyu Shakha, Tampa, successfully celebrated Makar Sankranti Utsav on January 18, 2026, at the Sri Ayyappa Temple of Tampa as part of SNY ’26 Adhiktam Diwas.
The Utsav witnessed an adhiktam sankhya of 85 swayamsevaks and family members, including enthusiastic participation from several USF students. The program began with Surya Namaskar and yoga asanas, emphasizing physical fitness and discipline, followed by khel, which brought great energy and camaraderie among all age groups.
A Boudhik session by Dr. Sahadeoji highlighted the cultural and spiritual significance of Makar Sankranti and reinforced the importance of unity, service, and samskaras. The celebration also featured a wide variety of traditional food and sweets, lovingly prepared by our Karyakartas (KKs), which added warmth and joy to the gathering.
The utsav concluded on a joyful note with kite flying, where bal, kishore, and tarun ganas enthusiastically participated, making the celebration memorable and vibrant.
Overall, the Makar Sankranti Utsav was a successful, uplifting, and well-organized event, strengthening bonds within the community and furthering the mission of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh.
