đźš’ ONE OF OUR OWN NEEDS OUR HELP đź’›

Our fire family is rallying around one of our members, Billy, his wife Beccah, and their sweet little girl, Josie.

Josie, who isn’t even 2 years old, has been diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL). In an instant, this family’s world changed, and they are now facing a battle no parent should ever have to imagine.

Billy has dedicated his career to serving our community as a firefighter, showing up for people on some of the worst days of their lives. Beccah has done the same as a nurse, dedicating herself to caring for others.

Now it’s our turn to show up for them.

The road ahead will include treatments, hospital stays, appointments, missed work, travel, and countless unexpected expenses. We want Billy and Beccah focused on one thing: being Mom and Dad and standing beside Josie while she fights.

A GoFundMe has been established to help ease the financial burden on their family during the months ahead. Every donation, no matter the amount, makes a difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser can be just as important in helping us reach more people.

Iron Sharpens Iron!!!

For years, we’ve packed up, loaded the rigs, and often traveled to get the quality, live-fire training we need to keep our community safe.

Our department's brand new training facility is officially standing, and we couldn't be prouder to have these top-tier capabilities right here in our own backyard.

This isn't just some showpiece. It’s where the real work happens. Having this facility means:

More hands-on reps: Real deal live fire, technical rescue, and ladder ops training without the travel downtime.

Sharper skills: We can train the way we fight, more often, and under the most realistic conditions possible.

Safer shifts: When we're sharper, our response is faster, and EVERYONE goes home safe at the end of the day.

We’re ready to put the boots on the ground, sweat out the details, and break this facility in. Huge shoutout to everyone who pushed, planned, and hammered away to make this a reality for our members.

We believe tax relief and strong public safety can coexist. Unfortunately, this amendment does not provide a clear path to achieving both. Until there is a reliable plan to provide the revenues necessary to support fire protection, EMS, and disaster response, we cannot support a proposal that could jeopardize the services Floridians depend on every day.

Our position is not about opposing tax reform. It is about protecting the people we serve every day. Public safety is the foundation that allows Florida's families, businesses, and economy to thrive, and any lasting reform must ensure reliable funding that keeps those services strong.

Happy International Paramedics Day!

When you see us driving around Pinellas Park in the big red trucks, it’s easy to just think "firefighters." But today, on International Paramedics Day, we wanted to pull back the curtain a bit on what we do when we aren't fighting fires.

In our department, we wear multiple hats. In fact, every single member of the Pinellas Park Firefighters, IAFF Local 2193, is also a certified EMT or Paramedic.

What does that mean for you? It means that when you or a loved one calls 911 for a medical emergency, the crew arriving at your door brings exceptionally high-level, advanced life-support care directly to you. Whether it’s a cardiac emergency, a bad wreck, or a sudden illness, we have the training, the tools, and the passion to handle it.

We don't just protect this community we live here, we raise our families here, and we consider it the highest honor to be there for you on your worst days.

To our fellow brothers and sisters on the shift today, stay safe out there. To our incredible Pinellas Park community, thank you for always supporting us. We've always got your back!

🇺🇲Happy 250th Independence Day, Pinellas Park!🇺🇲

Today marks an extraordinary milestone in our nation’s history. Two hundred and fifty years ago, a vision of liberty, unity, and resilience was born. As we celebrate the Semiquincentennial of the United States of America, the members of Local 2193 are incredibly proud to serve this community and honor the enduring spirit of freedom that unites us all.

While you are firing up the grills, gathering with family, and enjoying the fireworks, your Pinellas Park Firefighters are on duty, fully staffed, and ready to respond at a moment’s notice.

To help ensure everyone has a memorable and accident-free holiday, please keep these quick safety reminders in mind:
- Leave it to the Pros... The safest way to enjoy fireworks is to attend a public display.
- Keep Your Distance... If you are using legal sparklers or novelty items, ensure children are closely supervised, and always keep a bucket of water or a garden hose nearby.
- Grill Responsibly... Keep your grills at least 10 feet away from siding, deck railings, and out from under overhanging branches.
- Beat the Heat... Florida summers are no joke. Stay hydrated and look out for your pets—keep them indoors, cool, and safe from loud noises.
