This past week, our Pinellas Park Public Safety Cadets traveled to the South Florida Fairgrounds to compete against Explorer Posts from across the nation at the Code Blue Explorer Challenge.

After days of challenging, scenario-based competitions, our team brought home:

🥇 1st Place – Crisis Intervention
🥇 1st Place – Felony Traffic Stop
🥉 3rd Place – Active Assailant

These awards are a testament to the countless hours our cadets dedicate to training, teamwork, and professionalism. We couldn’t be more proud of the way they represented the Pinellas Park Police Department and our community on the national stage.

The week wasn’t all competition, though! Between events, the cadets had the opportunity to build friendships with Explorer Posts from around the country, explore a beautiful nature preserve, and put their teamwork to the test by escaping an asylum-themed escape room.

Congratulations to all of our cadets on an incredible week. Your hard work, determination, and commitment continue to set the standard. Thank you to our advisors, volunteers, and everyone who supports this program and helps make opportunities like this possible.

🚔 What a week! 🚔

Over the past five days, 14 future leaders immersed themselves in the world of public safety during our Pinellas Park Public Safety Cadets Summer Academy.

From hands-on training to behind-the-scenes tours, these cadets experienced what it’s really like to serve their community. Throughout the week they:

🔹 Toured the Pinellas County Jail
🔹 Processed a vehicle at the Pinellas County Forensics Building
🔹 Explored the Pinellas County Courthouse
🔹 Completed water survival drills
🔹 Took on a K-9 obstacle course
🔹 Learned lifesaving skills during Stop the Bleed training taught by our SWAT Medics
🔹 Conducted traffic stops and DUI investigations with our DUI Unit
🔹 Experienced fi****ms training with our Fi****ms Instructors—many of the cadets fired a handgun for the very first time
🔹 Put their skills to the test in realistic scenarios led by our Community Policing Unit

This academy wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our instructors and volunteers. A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to mentor, teach, and inspire the next generation of public safety professionals. Your passion and commitment made this an unforgettable experience.

🚑🚔 Learning Skills That Save Lives 🚔🚒

Today, our Police and Fire Cadets had the opportunity to participate in Stop the Bleed training led by the highly skilled Pinellas Park SWAT Medics from our Fire Department.

The cadets received hands-on instruction in recognizing life-threatening bleeding, properly applying tourniquets, wound packing, and other critical techniques that can help save a life before emergency medical care arrives.

A huge thank you to the Pinellas Park Fire Department SWAT Medics for taking the time to share your knowledge, experience, and passion for training the next generation of first responders.

Tonight, we celebrated someone who has truly left his mark on the Pinellas Park Public Safety Cadet Program—Major Ryan Wolf.

Ryan joined our post on September 23, 2021, and over the last five years has accomplished something very few cadets ever do. He has served in every leadership position available: Cadet, Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and finally Major. That progression wasn’t given—it was earned through dedication, hard work, and the respect of everyone around him.

During his time with the program, Ryan represented our unit at four Florida State Competitions, completed 42 ride-alongs, attended 12 delegate meetings, participated in a Youth Police Academy, and dedicated an incredible 1,275 volunteer hours serving the Pinellas Park Police Department and our community. Along the way, he earned ribbons recognizing his commitment to community service, law enforcement service, training, holiday events, tenure, emergency preparedness, regional academy, and state competition participation.

Those accomplishments only tell part of the story.
Anyone who has had the privilege of working alongside Ryan knows he has been much more than a title or a list of accomplishments. He has been a mentor to younger cadets, a friend to many, and someone who was always willing to lend a hand when it was needed. He represented this program with professionalism, integrity, and pride, and helped shape the culture that makes this unit what it is today.

Congratulations on your well deserved retirement, and we can’t wait to witness your future achievements!

What an incredible week for the Pinellas Park Public Safety Cadets!

Our cadets competed against 36 agencies from across the State of Florida, facing seven realistic, scenario-based events designed to challenge their knowledge, critical thinking, communication, and teamwork under pressure.

We are proud to announce that our team earned 8th Place Overall—an outstanding accomplishment against some of the best cadet programs in the state!

1st Place – Crime Scene Investigation

A special congratulations goes to Cadet Crawford, who was awarded the Polen Capital Scholarship for his exceptional performance in the Traffic Stop scenario. This prestigious scholarship was awarded in competition with more than 300 cadets from across Florida, making this recognition an incredible individual achievement.

These accomplishments are a testament to the countless hours of training, dedication, and teamwork our cadets put in throughout the year. We couldn’t be more proud of the professionalism, resilience, and determination they displayed all week long.

Please join us in congratulating Cadet Kraemer on her well-earned promotion to Lieutenant and Cadet Howard on his promotion to Corporal!

These promotions reflect their hard work, leadership, dedication, and commitment to the PSC Program. Both cadets continue to set a strong example through their professionalism, teamwork, and service to our community.

We are proud to see them grow as leaders and look forward to all they will accomplish in their new roles.

Today we proudly celebrate Cadets Washington, Texidor, and Cassity on their graduation from high school! 🎓👏

Your hard work, dedication, and commitment both in the classroom and within the cadet program have not gone unnoticed. Each of you has demonstrated leadership, integrity, and perseverance while balancing academics, training, and service to the community.

As you turn the page to this next chapter, remember that the lessons, memories, and friendships built along the way will continue to guide you toward success. We are incredibly proud of all you have accomplished and excited to see what the future holds for each of you.

This evening, our cadets were honored at City Hall alongside our Police Volunteers in recognition of an incredible 133,000 dollars worth of community service dedicated to the City of Pinellas Park and our Police Department.

These countless hours have helped shape their character, build lasting memories, and instill the core values that will guide them throughout life.

Join us in congratulating our cadets on a job well done—we are proud of each and every one of you!

The cadets were happy to lend a helping hook at Casting with a Cop held at Mayor’s Park at Freedom Lake Park! 🎣

From assisting young anglers to helping keep the event running smoothly, our cadets enjoyed spending the morning connecting with the community and are happy to support our community events 🐟 🐠

On April 11th, 2026 the Cadets had to divide and conquer! Our State Competition team traveled to Polk County for hands on training and tackled topics including Injunction Violations, Suspicious Persons, AI lectures, Felony Traffic Stops, Discretionary Shooting, a Driving Course, and simulator-based training.

The Cadets were also happy to volunteer at the City Picnic!

From aiding the set- up of the event, serving beverages, to keeping things running smoothly at the bounce houses, they were busy all day making sure everyone had a great time. Most importantly, they helped put smiles on so many faces throughout the community
