YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE WHAT OUR FAMILY HAS RECENTLY BEEN THROUGH!!
We are still navigating a difficult situation, and it has reminded me how important it is for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families to understand their rights, know what supports are available, and know where to go when they have questions or concerns.
Families should NOT have to feel lost when they are trying to advocate for someone they love. We need information, connection, and a place where our voices can be heard.
That is why meetings like the Family Care Council matter.
The mission of the Family Care Council is to educate and empower individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, while partnering with APD to promote dignity, choice, and quality services.
If your loved one receives APD services, is on the waiver, is waiting for services, or you simply want to better understand what APD provides, I encourage you to attend tonight’s meeting.
Being informed is one of the first steps in advocacy.
Your voice matters.
Please consider attending tonight and learning more.
