Seeking people who want to take part in a class called Getting Ahead:
If you’ve spent part of your life—or most of your life—struggling to get by in the world, the idea of actually getting ahead might seem out of reach. But even if your story has been filled with barriers, vanishing opportunities, and setbacks, the next chapter can change all that. Yes, you have to write it, but you don’t have to do it alone.
In a facilitated group setting, Getting Ahead in a Just-Gettin’-By World takes you step by step through a discovery of yourself like no other. It’s not just about how you got where you are now. It’s also about what comes next to build the life you want. Plus, this workbook helps you develop relationships with people who will support you all along the way.
We plan to start in September. It's a 16 week course that meets once a week for 2.5 hours, dinner is included, as is child care, and you get a gift card plus a gas card if you live outside of Pinedale. Please PM me if you are interested!

Bridges is now hosting monthly Coordinated Care meetings on the 1st Wednesday of each month. Join local nonprofits, human services agencies, and concerned individuals who are working for a strong, healthy, connected community! This is a great opportunity for folks to find out what is happening and how they can pitch in to make this a community in which all can thrive!
BOCES Room 120, 12:00. Please rsvp for lunch to [email protected].

Julianne Holt-Lunstad’s research into the influence of social isolation on mortality finds being isolated to be as dangerous as smoking and excessive alcohol consumption — and actually more dangerous than physical inactivity and obesity. In short, getting off the couch to go to a meeting could be as important to staving off death as hitting the gym.

How fortunate we are in Sublette County that there are so many opportunities to JOIN. I encourage you to look around and find a group to be a part of, and if you don't see what you want - start it!
