We didn’t have much response to the Community Trunk or Treat so I was wondering would people be interested in doing our community Christmas parade. No lawn mowers this year. Classic cars would be welcome also, but all would have to be decorated and festive. If there is enough interested and willing to cooperate, we will try to do it the first Saturday in December. This year it would be the parade only. I think the parade brings some joy to our community.

Last year the Community Trunk or Treat was such a success, we are going to do it again. Let me know if you want to set up a trunk. We sure did have a lot of cute little children come through last year.

Thank you to all who have donated to Terry Potts and Cindy Lewis Potts. They also need help in finding a house to rent in the WU area. Their house burned and they need something until everything gets settled out. Reach out to her if you have options available. Also, I have reached out to our fellow neighbors with regard to donations for this family. Many have done so. Again, If you wish to donate, please drop your donations off at Cameal Garrett and John Garrett’s home. They are collecting them and holding them for the family.

This page was created to bring our community together for fun events. However, today it is being used to bring our community together to support one of our own whose house burned this morning. Terry Potts and Cindy Lewis Potts lost everything. Let’s come together as a community and help our neighbors. They are presently in a hotel that is being provided to them for the next couple of days. They need everything. Cameal Garrett has graciously offered to be a drop off point for your donations - clothes, food, sheets, blankets, toys, towels, etc. Their sizes are as follows:

Terry is a 34x 32 in pants xl in shirt;
Silas 5t;
Atlis 24 months; and
Cindy 2x.

If you want to drop off cash or a gift card, that would be awesome too.
Again, drop off your donations at Cameal Garrett’s house. She’s on FB if you need to contact her.

Community, let’s show our support for this family.

I thought that we would try and have our community yard sale again this Saturday. My weather app says 70% chance of rain o Saturday. Do you want to try or just reschedule it for the first Saturday in June?

We have had a few cancel their spots for the yard sale tomorrow. The weather forecast is calling for scattered showers and cool weather. I wanted to let everyone know that you can still set up tomorrow morning in the lot across from the fire station. For those who had to cancel, if there is enough interest, we will do it again next month, the first Saturday in May. Just let me know.

Come join us. First annual community yard sale! Time to clean out. Start your summer off right getting rid of clutter!...

If you have pictures from Saturday’s parade, please upload them here. I have people wanting to see pictures and unfortunately, I didn’t take many. Please help a girl out. In addition $799 was raised for our fire department. Given the change of the date because of rain and it being the week before Christmas, I was pleased. Thank you to all who participated in the parade, who prepared soups and desserts and for the event and to the wonderful ladies who helped organize the kitchen and served. It was all wonderful. Congrats to our prize winners too!
