What an inspiring activation at Silver Shores STEAM Academy.

The Underwater Project offers us an opportunity to reflect on sea level rise and our shared responsibility to envision a more resilient future. What stood out most was the students’ knowledge, curiosity, and engagement. Many of them demonstrated an understanding of climate issues that rivaled students much older!

This activation was made even more meaningful by the incredible support of the school’s educators. From the principal to the teachers, everyone embraced the conversation and helped create a space where learning, creativity, and civic engagement could thrive.

Thank you to the entire Silver Shores STEAM Academy community for reminding us that the next generation is already leading the way.

Halfway through the year and making meaningful progress toward our goals.

The Underwater Project continues to expand across Broward and Miami-Dade, while the Reclamation Project is set to reach new communities beyond our borders. None of this work happens alone.

Whether it’s clay molding, sculpture painting, or speaking publicly, Cortada and the foundation staff and interns don’t stop advocating for the restoration of our planet through art and action. You may see the end results, but the real work is all in the process✨

Cortadito with Cortada☕️ Xavier Cortada talks about the inspiration behind the Reclamation Project and how mangroves are being used across South Florida to raise awareness about the importance of wetlands. From installations placed at schools to public spaces like Lincoln Road, this art is making a powerful impact and bringing the community into the conversation.
