TAZ MAY BE AN OLDER GUY… BUT SOMEONE FORGOT TO TELL HIM THAT.

Taz has the age of a distinguished gentleman and the spirit of a much younger pup.

This guy is FUN. He’s active, playful, incredibly affectionate, and always ready to be part of whatever his people are doing. Give him some space to run, play, explore, and burn off that energy, and then he’s ready to work on one of his newer skills.. relaxing on the couch and just hanging out.

And he’s getting better at it!

Taz has so much going for him:

• Good with kids
• Has done well with other dogs
• Has done well with cats
• Active and playful
• Incredibly affectionate
• Loves being around his people
• An older guy with a VERY young spirit

Taz would thrive with a family who enjoys being active and can give him an outlet for all that enthusiasm. A yard to run around in, adventures with his people, playtime, walks, and plenty of affection would make this boy one happy pup.

Once he’s gotten some of that energy out, he’s more than happy to start figuring out this whole “couch potato” thing.

Taz has already been through heartworm treatment and had more than 15 teeth removed since coming into rescue. He’s done the hard part.

Now he needs the family part.

Don’t overlook this guy because he’s older. Taz still has SO much life, personality, affection, and fun packed into him.

He’s an older dog with a young soul, an overflowing amount of love to give, and he’s ready to give all of it to his forever family.

Please SHARE and help us find the people who are going to love Taz just as much as we do!

HOW has Goose not found his forever family yet?!

If you’re looking for a social, goofy, loving pup who can fit right into family life, Goose deserves a serious look.

This sweet boy is truly the whole package.

• Fantastic with kids of all ages
• Great with other dogs
• Cat friendly
• House trained
• Crate trained
• Incredibly social and friendly
• Around 40 lbs, give or take.. the perfect smaller-medium size!

Goose is one of those dogs who just wants to be part of something. He wants people to love, dog friends to play with, and a family who will make him feel like he finally belongs.

He’s goofy, playful, affectionate, and loves making friends. We think he would especially enjoy a home with another dog to spend his days playing and hanging out with.

More than anything, Goose just wants to be loved and cherished.

He’s ready for the family adventures. The car rides. The playtime. The couch cuddles. The doggy sibling. The kiddos to grow up alongside. He is ready to be someone’s DOG.

Goose has so much love to give, and we know there is a family out there who is going to wonder how they ever lived without him.

Help us find them.

Please SHARE Goose and help this incredibly deserving boy find his forever home!

SCOUT IS SO READY FOR HIS FOREVER FAMILY!

Seriously… how is this guy still looking for a home?

Scout is a 10/10 AMAZING dog with so much going for him. He has a fantastic personality, loves just about everyone he meets, and genuinely wants to please his people.

Scout has been:
• Good with dogs
• Good with cats
• Good around kiddos
• House trained
• Crate trained
• Great in the car
• Familiar with basic commands

And personality wise? He is FUN.

Scout is playful, active, goofy, affectionate, and always ready to be included in whatever you’re doing. He would make an incredible companion for an active family who wants a dog to actually be part of their everyday life to include adventures, car rides, playing in the yard, walks, outings, and then coming home to hang out with his people.

He has the energy to keep up with an active household, but he also has a great foundation already. He wants to learn, wants to please, and most of all, wants to belong.

Scout came back to us through absolutely no fault of his own, and after spending more time with him, we can confidently say that someone is going to be VERY lucky to call this boy theirs.

He isn’t just adoptable.

He is the kind of dog who has all the potential to become someone’s absolute best friend.

Scout is ready. Now we just need to find the family who has been looking for him.

Please SHARE and help us get Scout’s face in front of his forever people!

We will be at Cared for Canine and Cat in Southern Pines this Saturday 08-29-2026 from 11am-2pm! These four cuties who are named Venus, Jupiter, Earth, and Neptune will be there with us from 12pm - 2pm

They were part of the 9 puppies that were a few days old when one of our fosters found them in a cardboard box on their porch. Unfortunately three of the bottle babies didn't make it, which can happen with tiny little babies. 😔

The 6 remaining puppies are big bundles of joy who are thriving, and this past weekend two of them have went off to their trial adoptions. Now remains these four pups. We believe they have some type of Livestock Guardian breed in them like Anatolian Shepered, Great Pyrenees, or Sheepdog, due to their double dewclaws they have.

They are going to be big pups, around the 60-70lb mark at least, so please be aware of that when putting in an application for one of these sweet babies. They are 9 weeks old, have had their first DHPP vaccines last week Tuesday and are great with kids/dogs/cats.

If you are interested in any of these little cuties please fill out an adoption application here for our adoption team to review it!

Our friends at Coast to Collar have been helping with Cooper and talk about great progress!

Cooper originally named Jasper, was in our rescue after his mom surprised shelter staff with two new born puppies in her kennel one morning. He went to a fantastic foster home and then got adopted. Unfortunately life happens, family dynamics changed, and Cooper found himself back with us. Cooper stayed with us for a while until earlier this year when he got adopted. Unfortunately, that home was not an ideal fit, and Cooper ended up being picked up wandering the roads. After being picked up, it was discovered he was supposed to be quarantined at home due to a bite hold after he and another got dog into an altercation and the other dogs person stuck their hand in the midst of it. The shelter he landed in kept us looped in with what was going on, and we were able to secure him somewhere to land the day he was likely going to be euthanized due to space. He went to be evaluated after leaving the shelter and got great feedback from it. From there, he transferred back to a foster home where he resided up until he began training with Hayley. Cooper is showing just how wonderful of a pup he truly is. He just needs that person, his person, to find him and choose him. Cooper has had an unnecessarily hard start to life despite our best efforts to avoid that.

Can you be the person who shows him the world isn’t as rough as it’s been?

Meet Lily. ❤️‍🩹

Yesterday, this sweet young hound was found in Richmond County, injured and in need of help. We don’t know exactly what happened to her, but based on her injuries, there is concern that she may have been hit by a car.

Lily is currently at Urgent Vets for Pets being evaluated, and we already know that one of her eyes is injured beyond saving and will need to be surgically removed.

Right now, we’re waiting for additional testing and answers to determine the full extent of her injuries and what else she may need.

For now, Lily is safe. She isn’t out there hurting and alone anymore. She has people fighting for her, and we’re going to make sure she gets the care she needs.

Unfortunately, taking in an injured dog like Lily means saying yes before we know what that final vet bill is going to look like. Between her emergency evaluation, diagnostics, eye removal surgery, medications, and any additional treatment they discover she needs, we know another significant medical bill is coming our way.

If you’re able to donate toward Lily’s emergency care, every single dollar will help us give this girl the chance she deserves.

We’ll update everyone as soon as we know more about her condition and what comes next.

Welcome to the pack, Lily. You’re safe now. ❤️

Please check the comments for ways to donate!

Update: Possible Adoptor Lined Up

Meet Nash!

He is 103 pounds of Lab love looking for his forever home!

Nash is a 6-year-old Lab with a big body, an even bigger heart, and plenty of those classic Lab traits we all know and love. This happy guy is incredibly loyal to his people, eager to please, and of course LOVES the water!

At a whopping 103 pounds, Nash is a whole lot of dog, but he comes with some pretty great manners. He is house trained, knows his basic commands, and loves making his people happy. He’s friendly, affectionate, and would love nothing more than to have a family of his own to be loyal to.

Nash is:

* 6 years old
* Neutered
* House trained
* Knows basic commands
* Fantastic with kids
* Fantastic with cats
* Loyal and eager to please
* A certified water-loving Lab

When it comes to other dogs, Nash can be selective about who he wants as a friend. Because of that, he may be happiest soaking up all the attention as the only dog in the home.

At 6 years old, Nash is past the puppy stage but still has plenty of life, personality, and Lab shenanigans left in him. He’s just a big, happy guy looking for a forever place to land somewhere he can love his people, splash in some water, and finally know he’s home.

Who has room in their heart (and on their couch) for 103 pounds of Nash?

Meet Willow! She is the last little lady of her litter still waiting for her forever family!

Willow is a 3 month old Shepherd/Lab/maybe a little Pitty mix who is basically happiness wrapped up in puppy fur. She is a bundle of energy, loves to play, and seems to think everyone she meets is a potential new best friend.

She is:
Great with other animals
Great with kids
Incredibly happy and social
Playful, energetic, and ready for adventure

Of course, Willow is still VERY much a puppy! She comes with all the typical puppy traits like learning manners, figuring out the world, getting into things she probably shouldn’t, and needing a family ready to continue her training as she grows.

All of her siblings have found their people, and now it’s Willow’s turn.

Come meet this sweet girl THIS SATURDAY!

📍 PetSmart - Aberdeen, NC
📅 Saturday
⏰ 11 AM–3 PM

Maybe Willow has been waiting this whole time because her family just hasn’t walked through the door yet.

Come see if that family is yours!

BELLE WILL BE AT PETSMART THIS SATURDAY!

If you’ve been waiting for the perfect excuse to come meet this beautiful girl, this is it!

📅 Saturday, August 22
⏰ 11 AM – 3 PM
📍 PetSmart | Aberdeen, NC

Belle will be joining us at our adoption event this weekend, and we would LOVE to see someone walk through those doors specifically for her.

Sometimes rescue dogs just need the right person to finally see them. Not scroll past their picture. Not say “maybe someday.” But actually come meet them, spend a little time with them, and discover the dog behind the post.

This Saturday could be Belle’s day.

Come meet her. Sit with her. Give her some love. And maybe, just maybe, leave knowing you’ve found the newest member of your family.

Not ready to adopt? You can still help Belle! Share this post and help us get her face in front of the person who’s been looking for her.

We’ll see you Saturday!
