Snake River Search (SRS) is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation headquartered in Idaho Falls, Idaho. The corporation originated in 1958 and has operated over the years as “Bonneville County Sheriff’s Jeep Patrol” and “Bonneville County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue”. Membership consists of highly committed and well-trained volunteers who have hundreds of years combined experience and have donated tens

of thousands of hours and miles providing services. No member receives compensation for their time, supplies, clothing or the services they provide. The organization is funded totally by donations, grants, fundraisers and the contributions of its members.

Congratulations going out to our very own Debbie Marshall on successfully completing her National Association for Search and Rescue SARTech II certification! This test has a variety of components including shelter building, fire starting, and day and night land navigation.

Idaho Falls area backcountry travelers...

It's time to shake the summer off your avalanche gear and come to our FREE avalanche awareness presentation at our office at 4279 Commerce Circle, Suite B, in Idaho Falls at 6 pm on Wednesday, the 19th.

If you have never been to an avalanche safety class, now is the time. Get to one before the snow is calling. Heck, there's a 30% chance of rain, so you don't want to be outside anyway.

We might focus some of our language on motorized users, but this class will benefit anyone recreating in the backcountry.

Thoughts and prayers going out to our friends and colleagues with Bonneville County Sheriff's Office.

The BCSO Team is sad to report the passing of recently retired Dep. Chris Williams this morning, after a 2 year battle with cancer. Chris was a great example to everyone of kindness, love, and commitment to family and friends. He will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Williams family during this difficult time.

Proud would be an understatement! Today, we had the great privilege of attending the Idaho State Search & Rescue Summer Trail Ride and Business Meeting in scenic and historic Pine, Idaho! At that meeting, our very own Dave Ferguson received the Everett Bogart Award. The awesome part of this award is that former recipient (and past State Commander) Stan Fenn nominated Dave for this award before his passing in 2020. We are blessed to have Stan’s spirit live on, and blessed to have amazing members like Dave on our team!
