05SEP2026 September Meeting of the Sunnyside Community Club
At 7:05 PM Rachel Sharpe lead the Pledge and Robert Brackett asked grace as 10 members and 3 guests began a wonderful evening of food and friendship.

The Meeting was not called to order and Linda Straub reported that the Treasurer’s Report shows $24,476.91.

There was no business so we just enjoyed good food and good company!

01AUG2026 – Sunnyside Community Club Minutes

Bob Patterson led the Pledge and Robert Brackett blessed the August Meeting of Sunnyside, which began at 7:58 PM on Saturday 01AUG2026.

The Treasurer’s Report indicated a balance of $25,387.23 ($4000 from the grant)

Sixteen members and 3 guests gathered for an evening of friendship and feasting!

Old Business:
Robert cut the grass and Mike and Robert fixed the door under the house.
Mike fixed the sign and the ladies’ toilet.
The front doors are now in need of attention.

New Business:
Franklin Cox passed away, he was the last person to attend school at Sunnyside.
The Vietnam War will be displayed at the Chipley Center.
22AUG2026 is the date for the Pollinator Count – 15 minutes to count all the pollinators you see.

02MAY2026 – Sunnyside Community Club
Eleven members gathered at Sunnyside and were led in the Pledge by Rachel Sharpe and Robert Brackett asked grace for the wonderful meal that began at 7:02 PM. At 7:43 PM Rachel Sharpe called the meeting to order.
The treasurer’s report indicated a balance of $20,207.17.

With 4th of July falling on the First Saturday, we will NOT meet – unless everyone decides they want to….
There is a podcast on YouTube about Pine Mountain Then and Now – one of the sections(?) is about Sunnyside.

04APR2026 – SUNNYSIDE COMMUNITY CLUB MINUTES

Bob Patterson led the Pledge and Robert Brackett asked the Blessing for 14 members and 1 guest at 7:01 PM. What a great way to spend an evening – lots of food and friends! Bob called the meeting to order at 7:50 PM

The Treasurer’s Report indicated a balance of $19,823.46.

OLD BUSINESS:
Next month we hear about the grant.
Mary’s sister teaches bridge here
The bridge players still play here on Mondays.
Garden club still meets here as well.

NEW BUSINESS:
Black History Trail now at the Chipley Center until mid-June, then the Vietnam War. There will be a display in the fall of toys from the 70s, 80s, and 90s.
May 9th there will be a wedding rehearsal here.
Faith has some Mosquito fish to share with anyone.
We need to redo the Sunnyside sign

The Chipley Center will have the new book – Image of America – Chipley – by Christmas. You may pre-order now at the Chipley Center.

01NOV2025 - November Meeting of The Sunnyside Community Club

At 7:02 PM 12 members and 1 guest gathered at Sunnyside to enjoy an evening together.

Linda Straub reports that the treasury has $18,920.68
Old Business:
We have raised over $1,300 for the quilt drawing!
The matching grant that Linda is working on for exterior work is for funds of up to $10,000!

New Business
Don’t forget the Historic toy display at the Chipley Historic Center.
There will be a Veteran’s Day program at the Women’s Club at 9:00 AM
There will also be Freedom Fest in Opelika, AL on the 07-08NOV2025. There will be Metal of Honor recipients, a parade, and lots of other activities.

Drawing for the quilt – drum roll – and the winner is Logan Johnson – MaryAnn’s son!
