CAMP TRINITY
Camp Trinity is a residential summer camp sponsored by the Episcopal Diocese of East Carolina at Trinity Center. We look forward to continuing our special programs and traditions for campers here on the banks of Bogue Sound. Camp Trinity is proud to be accredited by the American Camping Association. es on program quality and health and safety issues and requires us to review every facet of our operation. Camp Trinity has voluntarily submitted to this independent appraisal done by camp experts and has earned this mark of distinction. Camp Trinity offers young people rising 2-12 grades an opportunity to experience camping in an enjoyable and beautiful setting along Bogue Sound and the Atlantic Ocean. Campers share in a Christian program that helps them grow spiritually and emotionally while giving them opportunities to develop new interests, skills, and friendships. The goals of Camp Trinity are:
• To provide a Christian camping experience that is diverse, inclusive, nurturing, loving, and affirming, while challenging each person to be responsible to and for the other;
• To build and live in an intentionally Christ-centered community so that each camper might gain a deeper understanding of and appreciation for his/her own skills, abilities, and gifts as a child of God;
• To develop a sense of thankfulness for and stewardship of God’s creation;
• To provide a quality Christian Education experience. Campers will be involved in a variety of activities in their daily camp life. The camping program is administered by an experienced staff of college age and older individuals, with a ratio of one staff person for every four campers. The Summer Staff consists of: trained counselors who are responsible for the care and nurture of campers in their cabin life and camp activities; program staff who plan and implement the recreational program activities for campers; a certified staff of lifeguards and instructors who oversee the swimming and boating programs; and a nurse who cares for the medical needs of campers. CAMP FACILITY AND ISLAND SETTING
• Camp Trinity is located in Pine Knoll Shores on Bogue Island off the coast of North Carolina at Trinity Center, an Episcopal Camp and Conference Center. The camp is situated along Bogue Sound. The Center has 1500 of ocean front property on the Atlantic which is accessed by a tunnel under the island’s main highway.
• Four dormitories, with two cabins in each dorm, house ten campers and one counselor per cabin. Each cabin counselor is at least 18 years old. Counselors are chosen for their character and experience with children.
• Our dining room easily accommodates the camping community.
• Many different waterfronts are available to Trinity campers. Sailing, canoeing, and marshing take place on Bogue Sound. Swimming lessons, free swim, and water carnival events happen around the pool. Swimming, sand castle building, games, and beachwalks occur at the beach.
• Other program facilities include a covered recreation building, an outdoor recreation field, a challenge course, a Youth Assembly building, and a Pavilion on the ocean side.
• Sanders Point is an outdoor chapel overlooking the marsh waters of Bogue Sound. Many worship services are held at the chapel. Check out pictures here: camptrinity.smugmug.com
