As we close the books on the 9U baseball season, we would like to recognize an incredible group of 20 young athletes who represented our program with heart, determination, and sportsmanship all season long.
The team finished with a 5-7-2 ZVL record and earned a 3rd-place finish at the Stewie Slugfest, 5th place in the ZVL End-of-Year Tournament, and capped off the season with an impressive 2nd-place finish at the Lacrosse Walk-Off Weekend Tournament. While those accomplishments are worth celebrating, they only tell part of the story.
What made this season special was the growth that took place from the first practice to the final out. Every player improved, gaining confidence, developing new skills, and learning what it means to be a great teammate. Nearly every game was decided by just a play or two, a testament to how hard this team competed. Their resilience, effort, and never-quit attitude were on display every time they stepped onto the field.
Our goal was to develop not only better baseball players, but also young people of character who understand the value of teamwork, perseverance, and respect. This group embodied those values throughout the season and should be incredibly proud of everything they accomplished.
A sincere thank you goes out to our coaches for their time and dedication, our families for their unwavering support, and, most importantly, our players for their hard work, positive attitudes, and love for the game. The future of Pine Island Baseball is bright because of young athletes like these.
Congratulations on a fantastic season, Panthers. We can't wait to see what the future holds for this outstanding group.
