The Dodge County Fair starts today and that means the Malt Wagon is open! There are still a variety of shifts available from now through Sunday in the Malt Wagon. If you have a few hours to spare, we’d love to have you join us. This is a great way to support dairy farmers, especially in the heat this week! Thank you to everyone who has already signed up and volunteered their time. 🍦🥛🐄

The princesses have been busy this month! Last weekend was the Dodger Day’s Parade in Dodge Center. Josie and Elyssa along side their cows Austyn and Chase had fun waving and handing out goodies! Thank you John for driving!

This evening, Josie had the opportunity to go to The Rochester Honkers game along with the Olmsted and Winona county princesses. They handed out ice cream, cheese curds and cheese sticks. They also had 2 cows for the cow milking contest. Thank you to the Gochnauers for bringing the cows!

Today, Josie and Elyssa handed out ice cream treats at CHS in Kasson. They had a lot of fun getting to chat with the community!

Hello, my name is Elyssa Robinson. I work at Central Livestock in Zumbrota, along with milking on the family farm. We are currently only milking 22 head. I became a dairy princess to share the knowledge I’ve learned from working at an auction along with the knowledge from the farm to spread to the public the importance of the Dairy Industry and the benefits the products provide for our communities. Introducing our princesses!

My name is Josie Sauder. I live and work on my family’s farm where we milk 600 registered Holsteins, and where I’ve recently taken on the role of assistant Herdsman. My job requires me to keep a close eye on all the cows, feed and bed calves, as well as assist the veterinarian and breeder, and help in the field as needed. Outside the farm I’m involved in 4-H and FFA. I recently graduated from the Farm and lndustry Short Course at UW-River Falls.
I plan to continue working on the farm in the future and am excited to continue growing in my skills. This year I’m looking forward to the Dodge County fair and all the upcoming parades! Thank you to my sponsor Central Livestock.

Today Josie was in the Pine Island Cheese Festival parade. She had a wonderful time handing out cheese sticks! Thank you to our cow Ryan and our driver John!

We have so many exciting opportunities coming up this summer with many parades and the Dodge County fair right around the corner! We are both very excited to get out into the community and promote dairy products!

Yesterday, Elyssa and Josie went to the Alberts Brothers Dairy for their annual event of hosting the Pine Island 2nd grade class for a tour. The kids loved talking about dairy farming, cows and playing games with the princesses! They asked lots of questions about agriculture and enjoyed a sweet treat of yogurt at the end!
