The Facebook Family of the Erica Zwickel Foundation would like to give a special shout out to Orley Lago and the staff and members of Impact Fitness Solutions - Montville, NJ for sponsoring the 6-week lean down challenge with 100% of the proceeds going to the National MS Society. In total, 36 members from Impact along with myself are participating, and expect raise over $1000 to help find a cure for this horrendous and debilitating disease. This was a cause that Erica (Rikki) believed in and worked amazingly hard in her last years to beat. Please join me in thanking Orley and his team, and if you are on the lookout for a new place to workout, have fun and get healthy, Impact is a place worth checking out!!!

Yesterday was just another day. Or was it? It would've been Erica's 44th birthday. My family and I came home from vacation, unpacked, did laundry, shopping, and re-packed the girls for camp. 5 or 6 times during the day, I kept getting urge call my sister. Instead, I just looked up and said HAPPY BIRTHDAY Rikki! I still wish after all these years (almost 13!) that she was still here and that our family was complete. I wonder what her life would've been like, and what she could've accomplished? I'm confident that whatever she's doing, it's well organized and a lot of fun, and it probably involves taking care of someone, because that's who she was.
Happy Birthday Rikki! We miss you more!

With heavy hearts,the Board of Directors of the Foundation voted unanimously to cease operations for the Erica Zwickel Foundation. It was a FANTASTIC run, and we, along with the help of hundreds of donors and event attendees did amazing things to honor my sister's memory and the things she was passionate about. So before anything else, I want to send a HEARTFELT AND LOVING THANK YOU to all of you from my entire family and the Board. We made a difference! The tens of thousands of dollars put toward medical research in MS and Breast Cancer, the Art and Music Scholarships, the donation to the Rizzoto Family, NONE of that would have been possible without all of you, so again, THANK YOU! The Board also agreed to our last donation, which was a Major contribution to the Art Program at the Hebrew Academy of Morris County (newly renamed the Gottesman RTW Academy). Our donation will be used to purchase desks and furniture for the students, and a memorial plaque will be made and hung in the room in Erica's memory as a lasting tribute. The plan is to keep this page up and running. Please if anyone has pictures or stories about Erica that they want to post, DO NOT hesitate. She had a great life with wonderful family and friends, and we want to continue to honor that. Sandy and I are going to continue to honor her memory with continued contributions to MS and Breast Cancer research. I encourage all of you do the same!

Rikki, we still miss you more!

Hard to believe, but it's 12 years since Erica's passing. We still miss her, and laugh when we think about her, her humor, her selflessness, and funny quirky ways....so many we see in our daughter Emma. I was reading her obituary the other day, and remembered that she was not just a part of our family, but of so many other families that she helped to take care of. Just a few days before she passed, she and I were talking about Hanukkah and the things she had already gotten, and was planning to get for my daughter Hayley, her "best friend", whom she fawned over relentlessly and just wanted her to be happy. Erica now has 3 other nieces and nephews that she never got to know, but we see a little of her in each of them. Rikki, we miss you and love you so much. Happy Hanukkah!

The Erica Zwickel Foundation extends it heartfelt condolences to the Arezzi Family of Pine Brook, NJ. Michael Arezzi passed away recently after a battle with Pancreatic Cancer at Morristown Memorial Hospital. We'd also like to thank the Lang family for making a donation to the Foundation in memory of Michael. That money will go to help fund cancer research at MMH.

A special Thank You to the Jack & Anita Saltz Foundation in NYC for making their annual donation to the Erica Zwickel Foundation.

I am proud to say that this year, the Erica Zwickel Foundation has donated over $32,000 to MS Research, and over $28,000 to Breast Cancer research. We have also made over $10,000 in scholarship grants to students pursing Art and Music degrees at local Universities. In short, WE HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE!
