In honor of AmeriCorps’ 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance, Future Builders’ AmeriCorps staff visited five of our service-area counties—Jefferson, Grant, Drew, Cleveland, and Lincoln—to recognize and show appreciation for the first responders who work tirelessly to keep our communities safe.
After being awarded a mini grant by Engage AR, we were able to present custom honorary plaques expressing our gratitude for the brave men and women who courageously put themselves in harm’s way to protect others. Along with these plaques, we shared lunch and heartfelt notes of appreciation written by our dedicated Future Builders’ AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers.
Every year, AmeriCorps honors the spirit of service and remembrance by recognizing those who make daily sacrifices on the front lines. This year’s outreach was especially meaningful as we celebrated not only the dedication of our first responders, but also the commitment of two volunteer fire stations we had the privilege of honoring.
Service is at the heart of AmeriCorps, and these firefighters embody that spirit in such a powerful way. Their willingness to serve their neighbors and communities reminds us that making a difference starts with a heart for helping others.
We are incredibly grateful to our first responders, volunteer firefighters, and all those who answer the call to serve. Thank you for your courage, your sacrifice, and your unwavering commitment to keeping us safe. A special thank-you to EngageAR for helping make this meaningful outreach possible, and to our AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers for sharing their appreciation through thoughtful notes of gratitude!
We remember. ❤️🚨
