Happy Birthday greetings to Soror Peggy Evans from the Ladies of Epsilon Zeta Zeta Chapter!

Soror Evans was elected the 18th President of Epsilon Zeta Zeta Chapter (1997) and continues to serve the chapter by sharing her sisterly knowledge, gifts, and talent. Soror Evans is the mother of Dr. Anissa Evans, South Central Regional Chair of the Executive Board and Dr. Marian Shayla Evans, the first elected Arkansas State Director for Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated - South Central Region. One woman’s determination helped a nation honor a freedom story that could no longer be overlooked. Today, we celebrate Soror Opal Lee’s 100th birthday and a life that continues to move generations to action.

Affectionately known as the “Grandmother of Juneteenth,” Soror Lee reminds us that progress demands persistence, and that there is no age limit on purpose. Her courage, conviction, and unwavering commitment to justice reflect the heart of Finer Womanhood: serving others, standing for what is right, and creating a path for those who follow.

Happy 100th Birthday, Soror Opal Lee! We honor your extraordinary life by carrying your example forward, with purpose in our service and courage in our pursuit of freedom.

Epsilon Zeta Zeta is pleased to congratulate our Zeta Soror, Dr. Mitzy M. Allen, for being selected by the UAPB/AM&N National Alumni Association as one of Fifty under 50 Outstanding Young Alumni. Great job, Soror! See her message below:

Hello Alumni and Friends,

I’ve been selected for the Gamma Cohort of the UAPB/AM&N National Alumni Association FIFTY Under 50 Outstanding Young Alumni. This year we plan to raise $50K for the DIRE NEED Scholarship Fund and the administrative costs. This scholarship will support students experiencing a financial hardship that prevents them from paying their balance. UAPB provides holistic educational experiences that prepare our graduates to become critical thinkers, change agents and leaders in the global society.

Please assist me in reaching my goal of $1,000 as a recipient of this honorable accolade.
