Today in Ms. Stansfield’s class, our youth explored STEM careers through a hands on engineering challenge.

Using books plastic cups, plastic forks, index cards, and tape they worked together to design and build a bridge. Along the way they practiced problem solving critical thinking teamwork and creativity.

Activities like this help our youth see how STEM skills are used in real careers every day. We may have a few future engineers in the room! 👀💡💙

Week 1 of Summer Program is officially in the books, and if your child sleeps all weekend… you’re welcome. 😂

This week, our Club members jumped into two amazing opportunities:

Through a partnership with the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff's Agricultural Department, AgDiscovery introduced our teens to the world of agriculture and helped them understand how farming, food production, and the environment impact their everyday lives. From learning where food comes from to exploring career opportunities in agriculture, our youth gained knowledge that will stay with them long after summer ends.

🚀 Camp Invention, supported in part by the Walton Family Foundation, gave our youth hands-on STEM experiences through creativity, invention, structured project development, and good old-fashioned problem-solving. Campers worked together, built social skills, strengthened teamwork, and learned that some of the best ideas come from simply trying, failing, and trying again.

Between the projects, games, field trips, snacks, questions, more questions, and the endless amount of energy that only children possess, our staff has collectively walked approximately 47 miles. But in all seriousness, watching our youth learn, create, explore, and build new friendships made every tired step worth it.

Summer is the perfect time to keep young minds growing!

Strong readers thrive when families and educators work together. While school may be out, learning doesn’t have to stop. Take a few minutes to connect with your child’s teacher and ask:

✅ Is my child on track with reading?
✅ What reading skills should we focus on this summer?
✅ What books or activities do you recommend at home?

Just 15–20 minutes of reading each day can help prevent summer learning loss and keep your child prepared for a strong start next school year.

Find more ways to support your child’s success by visiting GoBeyondGrades.org/arkansas.

Your child should be asleep by 8:00 tonight… because the staff definitely will be! 😂💙
