Calamity Corner Hits and Misses A collection of crashes, near misses, and other shenanigans occurring at the corner of Motor Road and Springfield Avenue, Pine Beach NJ Stop at the signs.

Motor Road in Pine Beach NJ is rapidly becoming the most dangerous road in town. Numerous motor vehicle crashes have occurred at the intersections of Motor Road and Washington, Pennsylvania, Springfield, and Prospect Avenues just to name a few. There is more than adequate signage at each of these intersections, but drivers still aren’t getting the hint. Our hope is that by highlighting a few of the more noteworthy incidents, drivers will get the hint and pay attention before something tragic happens. This page will only post incidents that do not result in serious injury. The cameras used are not of sufficient clarity to capture license plates, and every effort will be made to obscure the identity of drivers involved when possible. However, ALL FOOTAGE CAPTURED IS MADE AVAILABLE TO LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT UPON REQUEST. By the way: The camera is mounted on a private residence and aimed at a public area. So if you end up featured in a video, it’s your own fault (or someone else’s), not mine. Don’t wanna be basic famous? Pay attention.

Maybe he's heading home to catch the rest of the Eagles game. Maybe he's running away from the Eagles game.

Excuse you, but this lane is occupied.

Sending summer out with a bang.
Occupants of both vehicles were evaluated at the scene by EMS, but no serious injuries were apparent.

Don’t know what Jeep Bro was looking at here, but he needs to know that this intersection is NOT a 4-way stop.

Should it be? Probably. But it isn’t. Please adjust accordingly.

Sorry about the glare, nothing I can do about it. Blame Mother Nature.

Today was the Fall Community Yard Sale, sponsored by the local volunteer fire company. And as usual, expecting an increase in vehicle traffic, the members of the fire company deployed in several locations to collect donations from passing motorists. Not our favorite activity in the world, but it costs a lot of money to keep the firehouse operating and we do what we have to do.

What you can't see because of the glare in the upper right corner, is two fire company members standing in the road collecting donations. These members are standing between two orange traffic cones and wearing green reflective safety vests. The driver coming from the west (Right) was either blinded by the sun or so engrossed in the quest for the deal of a lifetime at a yard sale that he/she completely disregarded the oversized stop signs and flashing red lights attached to them and sailed right through the intersection without touching the brakes.

Fortunately, nobody was injured. But it's safe to assume that nobody is selling a forgotten Rembrandt masterpiece for 10 bucks at a yard sale and you should be focusing on driving safely. Like my friend Sarah G. always says, "You don't have to donate, just don't run us over."

What in the actual air-fried hell is wrong with people??

I get it, we all have places to be, but this was completely unnecessary. After laying on the horn for 5-7 seconds, did Jagoff Jr. in the white car expect the blue van to pull out in front of traffic just because he was late for his mani/pedi?

Slow down, dude. You just ain't that important.

ROAD RAGE - Springfield Ave
Monday, August 10, 8:19 am.

This incident apparently started somewhere along the 800 block of Springfield Ave. The white Jaguar SUV (apparently in a big hurry) began tailgating the Jeep, then improperly passed the Jeep, and came to a stop. The Jag driver (henceforth referred to as Jagoff) exited his vehicle and berated the Jeep driver in front of his two young grandchildren, who he was bringing to school. Jagoff then got back in his vehicle and continued west on Springfield, eventually stopping at Calamity Corner. Jagoff then exits his vehicle a second time to berate the Jeep driver again, before getting back in his car and leaving the area. No license plate information was provided and, unfortunately, our lack of audio has cheated us out of some "colorful" Jagoff commentary.

If you are unfortunate enough to encounter this Jagoff yourself, keep your windows up and doors locked. This Jagoff is clearly unhinged, and if he does this to a total stranger I can only imagine how he treats Mrs. Jagoff.

(Apologies to Pittsburgh natives for the appropriation of the term Jagoff. 😆)

This one could have been messy.
It looks to me like the pickup truck driver’s view may have been obstructed by the Verizon truck in the southbound lane. It also appears, in my opinion, that the driver of the 4door (who may need a clean pair of skivvies) may have been going just a touch too fast.

What do you think?

If you really want to meet the officer working the evening shift, there are easier ways to do that.

THIS is why we need our cops. Nice work, officer.
