Who doesn't love a bathing beauty? Luna striking pattern makes Luna an eye-catching standout. Luna is estimated to be around 2 years old. She is a spayed, heartworm-negative, UTD on shots, and in good health. I do not think she has ever met a stranger, young or old. In good health, has good house manners, and has her obedience foundations in place. Looking for a forever home.

On a side note - we have been getting a whole lot of requests to join the Closed Facebook group. Maybe some have come from here - it's an unusually large number. ONLY once someone adopts - is when they can become a member of our adoption family group.

This is an update on the momma German Shepherd and 7 puppies we rescued several months ago from a Birmingham shelter. Momma dog has been spayed and placed in her forever home. Five of the seven puppies have been adopted. The two we have left are Bobbie Sue (the little pup who fell off the deck - I am fostering her) and Blue her sister. I'll attach links to their Petfinder pages which should include the application to adopt. Adoption fee is $100 to approved applicants. Mandatory spay to be performed at the adopter's expense by the age of six months - no later. WE WILL FOLLOW UP ON THIS!

2-24 UPDATE: Bobbie can see again. She's still a little bobbly when when walking and eating. She's still being treated for sarcoptic mange and now being treated for coccidea. Most likely acquired in the field before going into the shelter environment. She's a really sweet heart. Practically crate trained and now that she's taking Albon, her stools are firmer. 2-13 UPDATE: Bobbie, as I call her has been with me a few days now. She's eating, drinking and the like well. She's plays with toys. Very wobbly walking but seems to be focusing more so hopefully sight will return soon. She is special, that's for sure! Our vet seems to think she is seeing somewhat. We still need support and prayers.

Update on Elle, the puppy that fell off the back of the stairs. It was a long fall. Has a concussion. She's in an O2 tent. She was was lethargic but is coming around. The estimate is over $700 for hospitalization and treatment. This cost could go higher. But we have no problem begging for money. Most of us that know Linda Barlow and Penny Connerley (founders of GSRCA), know that they love German Shepherds & Chihuahuas. Some may say it's an unlikely mix but believe me - although small - the chiwees (as I call them) are the ones in charge. Linda has rescued a special needs girl who was about to be euthanized without medical care. Linda took Tinkerbelle under her wings and has since found out the complicated and expensive road ahead. Tinkerbelle is a sassy, tiny approximately 4-5 year old chihuahua who was rescued from a sanctuary with 60-70 dogs. She had been in a very restrictive environment and had mobility issues which had never been diagnosed. I adopted her about 2 months ago and began trying to get a diagnosis for her...
