Today at Rotary, President Garret presented Teresa Gascho with her Paul Harris Fellow +5 Award!

We are truly blessed to have Teresa as a member of our club. She is kind, caring, and compassionate with a strong commitment to serving others.

Teresa recently retired after 22 years with Scheurer Health, where she served as Vice President of Corporate Services. She is now enjoying retirement with family, traveling, and continuing to serve our community.

Monday’s meeting was extra special as we officially welcomed Mara Shorkey as the newest member of the Rotary Club of Pigeon! We are delighted to have Mara join our Rotary family and look forward to the energy, experience, and community spirit she will bring to our club.

A Bay City native and Western High School graduate, Mara earned degrees from Northwood University and Des Moines Area Community College. She has worked in funeral service for 11 years and has been with Ransford Funeral Home & Cremation Services since 2021.

Mara and her husband have two daughters, Scarlett and Teagan. She enjoys family time, traveling, and visiting Florida.

Please join us in giving Mara a warm Rotary welcome!

We were honored to welcome District Governor Jon Catlin of Rotary District 6310, who shared an inspiring message about this year’s theme, “Create Lasting Impact.” Members also enjoyed an afternoon of golf with Jon following the meeting.

2026–2027 Officer Installation: Celebrating Service, Leadership & Fellowship 🎉

Outgoing President Hans Eichler concluded a wonderful year by recognizing members for their outstanding service. Congratulations to Randy Ovcen (Paul Harris Fellow +3), Jerry Dietzel (Paul Harris Fellow +6), who honored his wife, Judy Dietzel, by presenting her with a Paul Harris Fellow. PDG Jeff Leipprandt, proudly received the Ted Leipprandt Service Above Self Award.

The meeting concluded with the presentation of the Community Paul Harris Fellow Award honoring the late Dave Anderson for his lifelong commitment to serving our community. The award was accepted by his wife, Renee Anderson, in a touching tribute to Dave’s legacy of Service Above Self.

Congratulations to our new officers and award recipients, and a heartfelt thank you to President Hans Eichler for an outstanding year of leadership. We look forward to another year of Service Above Self! 💙💛⚙️

Today we celebrated the ribbon cutting for the new Playscape, which also included the dedication of the Rotary Rock-Climbing Wall, made possible through our Rotary Grant Project.

A heartfelt thank you to all of the Rotary volunteers who helped make this project a success! Special thanks to Ray Leppien, our grant writer, and Lee's Landscaping, Inc., for their generous donation of time and materials.

A special thank you to Rotarians Mae Voelker, Mandie Krohn and Shelly Gunden who spread the mulch around the Rotary Rock-Climbing Wall and added the finishing touches to this project.

Congratulations to Barb Main on receiving her Paul Harris Fellow +4 recognition — an honor that reflects her continued dedication to Rotary and service to others. Barb serves as Director of AVS Broadband, Pigeon Telephone Company, AVS Tech Team, and has been a valued member of the Pigeon Rotary Club for the past 8 years. Thank you, Barb, for your leadership, generosity, and commitment to our community!

Today, members of the Pigeon Rotary Club joined forces with staff from Caseville County Park for a successful Watershed Cleanup initiative.

Eight Rotarians — Jeff Leipprandt Kent Shetler, Terry Lutz, Brady Krohn, scott Meyersieck, Mary Donnellon Teresa Gascho and Ray Leppien — worked alongside two park staff members to remove piles of debris and help keep our beautiful shoreline and park areas clean for the community and visitors to enjoy.

Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and energy to make a difference. Service Above Self in action!
