Description/Who We Are:
A
small but engaged grass roots group of long-time Pigeon Forge residents and business owners working together to make Pigeon Forge a better community for our residents, business owners and visitors alike
What We Do:
Work in our neighborhoods and the business community to inform, educate, engage and motivate our citizens to support a cause or opportunity that is mutually beneficial for all involved
Our Past Involvement Includes:
➢ LBTD in Pigeon Forge
➢ Pigeon Forge City Commission Elections (as well as other Sevier County and State of TN elections that we deem beneficial to Pigeon Forge)
➢ Wine in Grocery Stores – Petition to Vote
➢ Ripken Youth Sports Complex
➢ Additional Funding for the City of Pigeon Forge Advertising/Promotion Budget
➢ Forever Parks Foundation/All Inclusive Playground
➢ Supporting/Cooperation with the Pigeon Forge Hospitality Association
➢ Support of Pigeon Forge based schools (primary, middle, high school)
➢ Engagement/Relationship with the City of Pigeon Forge Government (staff and elected officials)
Our Immediate/Short-Term Goals:
➢ Youth Sports Park Development - city/county partnership & funding source - the travel/tourism industry is realizing more each day how much youth sports is impacting the hospitality industry and PF must be in this “game” to get its share of this growing market - PF is a “perfect fit” for youth sports/facility
➢ 2016 State Legislature & opportunities - we have a governor and legislative body that has invested in tourism - we must stay involved and supportive (to get our fair share) as PF/SC is the third largest contributor to the statewide tourism industry
➢ Growth of PFDOT advertising budget to $10 million and beyond - additional funding - we must continue to grow our economy via responsible tourism advertising & promotion - find additional funding sources to grow our ad budget
➢ Quarterly town hall meetings with mayor/commission, residents/businesses - structured meetings – FA/PFHA will host/organize – communication/engagement is a must in today’s government and we in PF must continue to communicate our message and focus to the community as a whole to maintain their support
➢ 2017 May Election - plan/strategy - candidates - FA/PFHA and citizens must stay focused on finding and electing the best candidates possible to insure/protect our City’s growth and future
➢ Continue to appoint and/or suggest - aggressive/progressive PF business owners/managers and residents to Pigeon Community Boards/Committees such as the Tourism Advisory Board and IDB/PBA
