In observance of National Quilts of Valor Sew Day, members of the Flag Mountain Honor Guard chapter met at the First United Methodist Church, Pierre, SD. Thank you ladies, for a fun day of sewing Quilts of Valor projects!

The South Dakota State Capitol showcases themed Christmas trees every year and this year QOV Flag Mountain Honor Guard group of Pierre, SD, had the pleasure of decorating one special tree, featuring QOV 2025 Veteran award photos (with recipients’ permission). The ornaments were made from the group’s QOV fabric scrap bin. If your holiday travels take you nearby, check out how great the Quilts of Valor tree at the Capitol looks! Ardys Roseland, a member of Flag Mountain Honor Guard recognized two Veterans of the Street Masters car club at their monthly meeting, Monday, November 17, 2025 at Jakes Good Time Place, Pierre, SD. Jack Wagoner and Cal Christie were presented registered Quilts of Valor. Assisting with the award ceremony were Flag Mountain Honor Guard members Barb Van Kerrebrook and Pam Hoepfer.

The Quilts of Valor, Flag Mountain Honor Guard recognized two Veterans on October 30, 2025, at the Soldiers and Sailors World War Memorial, Pierre, SD. Ardys Roseland, Flag Mountain Honor Guard member presented quilts to Veterans Robert Kean and Darrel Salonen. Assisting with the award ceremony were Flag Mountain Honor Guard members Patti Heintz and Barbara Van Kerrebrook.

Pat Weeldreyer, Flag Mountain Honor Guard member presented the quilts to: Russell Carter, Justin Barry, Jerome "Joe" Marbach, and John Wellhouse.
