Equal shared parenting is simple: when parents separate, the starting point should be that children have the right to meaningful time and strong relationships with both parents, unless there is evidence that this would not be safe or in the child’s best interest.
This isn’t about mothers vs. fathers. It’s about children and stability.
Research and real-world experience show that when both parents stay actively involved, kids do better emotionally, academically, and socially. That’s why more states are moving toward rebuttable presumptions of shared parenting – and why we’re fighting for similar reforms here.
