VFW Auxiliary Post 2038, Pierre SD

VFW Auxiliary Post 2038, Pierre SD Charles E. Volunteer with us and celebrate the freedoms we enjoy in America.

Thorne Post #2038 VFW Auxiliary's objective is to support the Veterans of Foreign Wars, assist veterans, active military, and their families in the Pierre / Ft Pierre area. The VFW Auxiliary is one of the nation’s oldest
veterans’ service organizations and our members
are the relatives of those who have served in a
location of foreign conflict. We have nearly half a
million members nationwide who

volunteer
millions of hours and fundraise millions of dollars
for charitable projects that benefit veterans,
military service personnel, and their families. Through our National Programs, we assist the
VFW pass or block legislation that impacts
veterans and their families, provide nearly a
million volunteer hours in the VA medical system,
conduct patriotic programs with thousands of
dollars in scholarships for our nation’s youth. With nearly 4,000 Auxiliaries, there is likely one
in your area working to improve the lives of
America’s uncommon heroes.

🇺🇲❤️🇺🇲 The VFW Post had the honor of hosting this year's Memorial Day Program at Riggs High School in Pierre. It was also an honor that we were able to lay a wreath on the white picket fence in remembrance of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Brian Murphy of the United States Marine Corp gave an amazing speech. Thank you to the Capital City Band for the beautiful music. 🇺🇲❤️🇺🇲

On Friday, May 15, 2026, the National Association of Active and Retired Employees (NARFE) asked us if we could present our Nation's colors for the opening ceremonies of their meeting held in Pierre. It is such an honor for them to ask, so we jumped at the opportunity!
