A quick two bed delivery this morning means two more kids have a safe, comfortable place of their own to sleep tonight. This delivery was also our first out in the Harrold area. Thank you to everyone in our community who helps us make sure No Kid Sleeps On The Floor In Our Town!

Our 100 Lowe’s beds have arrived! We are looking for help in unloading our trailer and getting everything stacked into our storage unit. The plan is to meet up Tuesday at 5:30pm, Safeway Storage #268. Many hands make light work and we estimate this will take about an hour with 10 people or so. If you have any questions or just want to let us know you are coming to help, text Brian at (605)310-2067.

There was an issue with the freight shipment over the weekend and it didn’t arrive in the best shape. We are grateful that our awesome driver Dante was safe and everything arrived undamaged (just a little jumbled). Thank you to the wonderful group that answered my phone calls and came to help re-stack and re-palletize everything. Special thanks to Roby Bass and Pierre Closets for coming down on short notice and using your equipment to get us unloaded.

The Lowe's Home Improvement 24-Hour Bed Build in Charlotte, NC is fast approaching and our chapter has been chosen as a recipient of 100 complete beds! The mattresses have already arrived and the Governor Tennis team made quick work of loading and unloading them for us. Special thanks to Pierre Closets for letting us use their shop for our freight deliveries.

Huge thank you to Team Broadway at GMMS for choosing SHP for their annual coin wars challenge. The kids raised almost $500 to help other kids in their community get a good night sleep. We appreciate all of our volunteers and donors but it’s always extra heartwarming when we have kids helping kids. Way to go Team Broadway!

Long overdue recognition of two amazing kids from Highmore Harold School. McKenley and Ava led the charge in organizing a bedding and donation drive for our SHP chapter. With the help of their fellow classmates and members of their community, they raised over $2200 and 110 bedding items! We appreciate all of our volunteers but it’s especially wonderful when we have kids passionately helping other kids. Thank you for your hard work in helping us make sure No Kid Sleeps On the Floor in Our Town! (Even if someone thought they posted this months ago)

January 2026 is almost gone (not sure how that is possible) but we have an opportunity to end the month on a high note. We had a great morning delivering some early Christmas presents around Pierre! We were able to get 11 kids beds of their very own just in time for Christmas. Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers who make sure “No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in Our Town!”
