🕊️ Volunteers Still Needed for the 2026 Walk of Hope Remembrance Ceremony 🕊️

We are still looking for three individuals or families to help represent experiences during the remembrance ceremony at the 2026 Walk of Hope on Saturday, September 12.

We are currently seeking volunteers to represent:

💛 Gold — Loss of a spouse
💜 Purple — Loss of a relative or friend
💚 Green — Lived experience with mental illness or suicidal thoughts

During the ceremony, each volunteer will walk onto the field carrying balloons (all balloons used are biodegradable). A brief version of their story will be read by our emcee as they walk. Volunteers will have the opportunity to review and approve their stories beforehand and are only asked to share what feels comfortable to them.

By sharing your experience, you can help others feel less alone while offering a powerful message of remembrance, connection, and hope. 🕊️

If you or someone you know would be interested in participating, or if you’d like more information about what is involved, please send us a Facebook message or contact Jana at 605-280-4370.

The 2026 Walk of Hope begins at 9:30 a.m., with gates opening at 8:30 a.m. We hope you’ll join us as we remember those we have lost, support those who are struggling, and bring hope to our community.
