The Gary Larsen Foundation The Gary Larsen Foundation is a non-profit organization that raises money for children with cancer. In 2001 Gary Larsen passed away from Leukemia.

Over the past 20 years we have raised over $450,000 for organizations such as Make A Wish Foundation, Happiness Is Camping, Ronald McDonald House and LLS. Gary Larsen was one of those people who had an infectious spirit. He was a best friend, a husband and a father who inspired everyone and anyone who crossed his path. And so, when he passed away, his closest friends and family could not let Gary'

s spirit go unremembered. The idea for the Gary Larsen Bocce Classic was hatched at a family barbeque and it has grown immensely in the part 12 years. The very first tournament was held in a backyard and only had about 40 guests in attendance. Today, we welcome no less than 150 people to our bocce classic. We strive to create a sense of giving, of caring and of love, just as Gary did throughout his life. We bring people together every year to enjoy each others company, to eat, to laugh and to celebrate the life of a wonderful man; all for a fantastic cause. To this day, we have raised over $100,000 for children with cancer. We donate to charities such as Make A Wish Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, Happiness is Camping and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Please feel free to join us on the last Saturday in July on the Piermont Pier in Piermont NY and become part of this wonderful cause.

As we celebrate 25 years of the GLF, we’re celebrating so much more than an anniversary—we’re celebrating the life of Gary Larsen, the love, friendships, and the incredible people who made it all possible.

In 2001, six dedicated individuals had a vision to create something lasting. Today, we proudly recognize our original Board Members. Tom McArdle, Tony Spina, Stephen McArdle, Jim Murphy, Nick Badaglino, and the late Rob Short.

We thank them for turning an idea into a legacy. Because of their hard work and dedication, generations of families and friends have come together for 25 years to honor Gary and raise money for families affected by cancer.

Their passion, leadership, and commitment laid the foundation for what has become 25 years of connection, laughter, competition, and community.

Here’s to the memories, to the people who started it all, and to Gary. Please join us on July 25th to celebrate this remarkable accomplishment!
