A little learning, a lot of laughs, and maybe a few ghosts! 👻

Ashlea spent this week connecting with fellow Child Advocacy Center directors from across Missouri at the annual CAC Directors Retreat in Jefferson City!

It was a great opportunity to exchange ideas, share experiences, and connect with others who understand both the challenges and rewards of the work we do every day.

A big thank you to the Missouri Network Against Child Abuse for bringing everyone together and creating opportunities for collaboration, learning, and a little fun along the way!

And speaking of fun… a ghost tour at the Missouri State Penitentiary definitely made for a memorable evening! 👻🔦

💙 Celebrating One Year of Leadership and 10 years total of service! 💙
From Forensic Interviewer to Executive Director, Ashlea Belcher has now dedicated more than a decade to the CAC movement and the mission of helping children find hope and healing.
Ashlea’s journey began at Children’s Center in June 2016, where she served children and families for more than eight years before joining the Missouri Network Against Child Abuse, Missouri’s state chapter for Children’s Advocacy Centers.
On October 14, 2025, her journey brought her back home to Children’s Center-this time as Executive Director.
Today, we’re celebrating one year of Ashlea’s leadership as Executive Director and more than a decade of dedication to the CAC mission. 💙
Happy anniversary, Ashlea! We’re so glad your journey brought you home.

The Children's Center will be closed on Monday October 12 in observance of Columbus Day.
While our offices will be closed, our commitment to children and families continues. Staff will remain on call for emergency referrals throughout the day.

Our girl, Dani, is out representing Children’s Center at Oktoberfest in Nevada today! 🧡🎃

If you’re out enjoying the festivities, be sure to stop by her table, say hello, and learn more about the services Children’s Center provides to children and families in our communities!

We love getting out into the communities we serve and sharing our mission of hope and healing! 💙

🎬 Same $15. Completely different story.

A streaming subscription entertains us for a month. That same monthly gift can help change the story for a child right here in Southwest Missouri.

Introducing Watch the Change, Children’s Center’s new monthly giving community.

For as little as $9 a month, you can become part of the work happening every day to provide hope, healing and justice for children impacted by abuse.

Every gift matters. Every role matters. And when our community comes together, real change happens.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll introduce the different roles you can play in the story—from Scene Setter to Executive Producer—and show how consistent monthly support helps Children’s Center continue serving children and families across Southwest Missouri.

Our Children's Center team had a wonderful time connecting with our community at the Joplin Health Fair!
Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to learn more about the services we provide and how we support children and families throughout our community. Every conversation helps raise awareness about child abuse prevention, healing, and the hope that is available to children who need it most.
We're grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a great community event and look forward to seeing you again next year! 💙
