With graduation around the corner in mind, the Society has acquired and scanned the graduation journal of Daisy Albert Lucas, Peirce City High School Class of 1909. Well wishes, newspaper clippings and a 113 item list of presents received detail a long passed era. Link to the PDF and story below.

Bonnieview School, at the southwest corner of Hwys. 37 and PP (west of the paintball course) as it was newly built in 1908, and currently as it is being rebuilt. The school served the community until as late as the 1950's.

It is a sad day. They are knocking down the old community center and the remnants of the old store that sat on the corner. My grandpa, John Moloski was born there, when my great grandparents ran it in the early 1900’s. Sad. My heart literally hurt when I came over the hill in front of the church and saw this. The broken chimney from the store went down today.

Fred Gasser was born north of Pierce City in 1891 and attended St. Mary's School. In 1904, at age 12, Fred maintained a workbook which included graded letters, arithmetic and dictation. He writes of his neighbor, Adam Landoll, and of his sick cousin from Carterville, near Webb City. Fred went on to be a physician and doctor in Cherryvale, Kansas. We've digitized that workbook and made it available here:
