Congratulations to our new leadership team! We had a great Patrol Leaders Council meeting last week and the new scouts shared their ideas, concerns, and what they want to be doing for troop 4. It is fun to see them taking charge and creating their own experience. Reminder that the PLC meetings are open to everyone to come see how the troop is run and meetings and trips planned.

Troop 4 kicked off the new Scouting year with a fantastic Welcome Back Party at Redwood Regional Park! 🌲🔥
Each patrol planned and cooked their own meals—showing off their outdoor cooking skills and teamwork. Many Scouts camped overnight, enjoying time together under the redwoods. Meanwhile, parents had a chance to mingle, reconnect, and welcome new families to the troop community.

A great start to another year of adventure, learning, and leadership with Troop 4!

A couple of Troop 4 Scouts spent part of their summer giving back through community service with Friends of Sausal Creek!
From trail maintenance to habitat restoration, they rolled up their sleeves and made a real impact. What a great way to stay connected to nature, support the local environment, and live the Scout spirit!

Troop 4 had an unforgettable adventure at Emerald Bay Summer Camp!
The journey began with a night aboard the historic USS IOWA, where the Scouts got a glimpse of life at sea. From there, they caught the ferry to Catalina Island, ready for a week of outdoor challenges, skill-building, and fun at Camp Emerald Bay. What a way to kick off the summer!

Beginner backpacking trip at Sibley. The new scouts were learning to set up tents and cook with their fellow scouts, while the older scouts led and taught them how to backpack. These are great trips to learn the ropes and have fun with friends.

Our Scoutmaster Mr. Arvind Seshan wrote a review about the Camporee 2025.

“What a great camporee experience this weekend! It was great to see so many new Scouts participating enthusiastically in the events of the weekend. All 15 new Scouts in attendance substantially earned their Scout Rank (save for one remaining requirement, to be completed with parents). With this achievement and your first Scout campout under your belt, you are off to a great start to your Scouting journey! It was wonderful to see our more senior scouts, SPL and Patrol Leaders stepping up and providing great leadership to their patrols, teaching the younger scouts the ropes and guiding them wherever needed. And a huge thank you to all the adults who helped plan and/or attended the trip - parent involvement makes for the best experience for our Scouts.”

Some great photos from the trip

Tonight’s Iron Chef Competition at Montclair Park was a lively and delicious success! Five patrols were formed with our new scouts during the meeting, and each team cooked a meal of their choice to compete for culinary bragging rights. From creative dishes to teamwork at the grills, it was inspiring to see the scouts take charge. After the feast, everyone pitched in to clean the tables—true scout spirit in action. It was especially exciting to welcome so many new scouts and their parents to the troop!
